I love it. Feels like day 1 of Colonial Stadium in 2000!

Are we still able to choose background themes? Is there a dark mode?

Check the bottom of the page. There is a moon icon for dark theme and a light bulb icon for the light theme.

The default is the light theme because I didn't want to scare anyone.

Got it thanks.

Is there the option still there to make the colours neutral. You know, like for SFW purposes?

Think that option made it white and green before.

Everything has gone vertical. Freaking me out.

I'm going to make one practical suggestion, which I understand might be an absolute shirt-sew to adjust, but having a slightly wider text space in the threads would reduce scrolling a bit. If the centre panel can be widened just a little, or maybe the profile images in posts adjusted so there isn't as much blank space along the left side.

But these are quibbles and tweaks.

I thought it was a nice update. It was a nice update, I thought. I bet it looks super snazzy on mobile.

Are you using a PC? How compact is your browsing window?

Andy,

how to access chat room for the podcast?

It's on the to do list. The old chat room was a third party app that was always going to be nuked in the upgrade as the coding has slighty changed and there would be incompatibilities. I have to wait for a viable solution. There may already be one available I just have had other aspects of the site that I needed to get working for launch.

As far as I can tell there is only the light and dark themes. Theoretically the light theme could be made neutral but to be honest for me the "branding" aspect is more important to me than you getting away with not working while you're at your job. 😜

Yep, on a PC, a pretty compact laptop. I don't actually think there is any design or format problem and I'm pretty sure I'll adjust within days. Nothing more to my comment than wanting a couple of extra cms in the middle where the main action is. (That's what she said.)

This is so much easier to use!

Demonland got an upgrade before our training ground got its upgrade.

Here's to having Caulfield up and running by 2028 😜

IMG_4711.jpegGedday Andy this is all I get on my iPad when I wanted to reply and ask the question about hiding the menu bar on left? I’ve been able to reply on my phone tho?

Looking good, I like the new layout...

only thing I would mention is the banner at the top is rather small is it possible to get it across the whole top, or is it stuck in the corner?

Welcome to the New-Look Demonland!

You may have noticed that Demonland has undergone a bit of a makeover. We’ve freshened things up with a new look and feel, but rest assured — the heart and soul of the site remain the same.

This thread is your go-to place for reporting any bugs, glitches, or issues you encounter while navigating the updated site. Please let us know if something isn’t working as it should so we can sort it out as quickly as possible.

Just a quick note: difficulty adjusting to change isn’t a bug — we get it, new things can feel a bit strange at first. Give it a little time, and we’re confident you’ll feel right at home.

Trouble Logging In?

As mentioned prior to the upgrade, you now need to log in using your email address, not your old username.
If you're running into login issues, please follow these steps:

  1. Try the "Forgot Password" tool if you still have access to your original email address.

  2. If you're still stuck, use the "Contact Us" link at the bottom of the page and we'll help you out.

What’s Changed?

Apart from the updated visual design, most of the features and functionality you’re familiar with remain unchanged. It’s the same Demonland you know and love — just with a modern facelift.

We’ve also added Dark Mode! If that’s more your style, you can toggle it on by clicking the Moon icon at the bottom of the page.

Help Us Iron Out the Kinks

While we’ve done our best to test everything, there may still be a few gremlins lurking. If you spot anything broken or behaving oddly, please report it here. We'll continue to tweak and fine-tune the design over the coming days.

Thanks for your patience and support — and enjoy the new Demonland experience!

A MASSIVE THANK YOU TO @Nasher for persisting with the upgrade and finding the solution. We nearly had another failed upgrade. We were 19 points down in the 3rd quarter and he went BANG! BANG BANG BANG!!!

Absolutely love the new look ..all your combined efforts are very much appreciated

That's the way the new software handles the logos. I guess screen realestate is a premium. Most of the tutorials about the software had small logos rather than big banners. It doesn't phase me.

I will have to check my ipad when I get home. Haven't done any testing on that device. Assume you are logged in on the iPad?

I won't make the obvious joke based on the image about turning the iPad right side up.

@Flemo56

It worked fine when I tried it on my colleague's iPad. If it's not working for you, the reason might be because your iPad or its internet browser (usually Safari) is older or hasn't been updated in a long time. Websites often use newer technology that older devices or browsers can't properly understand.

Try checking if your iPad has any software updates available, and install them if it does. After updating, check again to see if the website works.

  • PREVIEW: Sydney

The two teams competing at the MCG on Sunday afternoon have each traversed a long and arduous path since their previous encounter on a sweltering March evening in Sydney a season and a half ago. Both experienced periods of success at various times last year. The Demons ran out of steam in midseason while the Swans went on to narrowly miss the ultimate prize in the sport. Now, they find themselves outside of finals contention as the season approaches the halfway mark. The winner this week will remain in contact with the leading pack, while the loser may well find itself on a precipice, staring into the abyss. The current season has presented numerous challenges for most clubs, particularly those positioned in the middle tier. The Essendon experience in suffering a significant 91-point loss to the Bulldogs, just one week after defeating the Swans, may not be typical, but it illustrates the unpredictability of outcomes under the league’s present set up.

  • REPORT: Brisbane

“Max Gawn has been the heart and soul of the Dees for years now, but this recent recovery from a terrible start has been driven by him. He was everywhere again, and with the game in the balance, he took several key marks to keep the ball in the Dees forward half.” - The Monday Knee Jerk Reaction: Round Ten Of course, it wasn’t the efforts of one man that caused this monumental upset, but rather the work of the coach and his assistants and the other 22 players who took the ground, notably the likes of Jake Melksham, Christian Petracca, Clayton Oliver and Kozzie Pickett but Max has been magnificent in taking ownership of his team and its welfare under the fire of a calamitous 0-5 start to the season. On Sunday, he provided the leadership that was needed to face up to the reigning premier and top of the ladder Brisbane Lions on their home turf and to prevail after a slow start, during which the hosts led by as much as 24 points in the second quarter. Titus O’Reily is normally comedic in his descriptions of the football but this time, he was being deadly serious. The Demons have come from a long way back and, although they still sit in the bottom third of the AFL pack, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel as they look to drive home the momentum inspired in the past four or five weeks by Max the Magnificent who was under such great pressure in those dark, early days of the season.

  • CASEY: Southport

The Southport Sharks came to Casey. They saw and they conquered a team with 16 AFL-listed players who, for the most part, wasted their time on the ground and failed to earn their keep. For the first half, the Sharks were kept in the game by the Demons’ poor use of the football, it’s disposal getting worse the closer the team got to its own goal and moreover, it got worse as the game progressed. Make no mistake, Casey was far and away the better team in the first half, it was winning the ruck duels through Tom Campbell’s solid performance but it was the scoreboard that told the story.

  • PREGAME: Sydney

Just a game and percentage outside the Top 8, the Demons return to Melbourne to face the Sydney Swans at the MCG, with a golden opportunity to build on the momentum from toppling the reigning premiers on their own turf. Who comes in, and who makes way?
