I tuned into OTC last night and I still can't understand Jack Riewoldt's strong dislike of the MFC. The panel were discussing Petracca's and Oliver's performance and he couldn't wait to ask the open question "What does this say about Melbourne?" implying a failing of the club. Thankfully Lewis defended the club and talked about how the GC system boosts Petracca's performance and Lethal also said "Melbourne supporters would be wondering, where was this for the last 2 years!?".

Matthews and Lewis sensibly added other factors but Riewoldt would have happily let it go into more Melbourne bashing.

After a long offseason, I think the media [censored] in general are just looking to set their agendas and create some content for the following days news cycle to talk about.

I tuned into Footy Classified last night and that wasn't much better, though they were more focused on nothing changing at Carlton (talking like we are half way through the season rather than one round in), potential unrest at St Kilda over their high paid players (and also not much changing despite), Daicos to Tasmania... etc

Some talk re Petracca/Oliver, but they were more in the Matthews and Lewis camp, rather than Reiwoldt

Elephant in the room on that Clarry post game interview is him saying that he rocked up to pre-season in bad shape and 'fat'.

Glossed past faster than a speeding bullet and kudos to him for getting his act together with the likes of Whits and Ashy by his side but if you were going to a new footy club with the hope of piecing back together your footy career, wouldn't you be aiming rock up to pre season in very very good shape and make a good impression?

It was a fair question though. Oliver was given every opportunity and Tracs situation was probably more of his own doing than the clubs failure to keep him engaged. we need the media to explore that more. The club though didn’t do itself any favours with the board and handling of the off field nonsense

No doubt the same ones who simply assumed Clarkson, Fagan, etc. were guilty and finished in football from the Hawthorn saga.

This is embarrassing. Do you really think because the charges were dropped he’s an upstanding young man? It’s attitudes like yours - obsessed with the tiny percentage of unproven claims, rather than the massive number of SAs that are never reported because victims know the justice system is stacked against them - are the reasons why more victims of SA don’t come forward

Oliver and Petracca situations, yes both parties have blame. No one is blameless, and that includes others not mentioned in the clip (Goodwin, Roffey, Griffiths).

The witness admitted to lying - Bruhn wasn’t merely found ‘not guilty’ - he was fully exonerated.

As a former detective who worked in the Sex Assault Squad (as well as Child Abuse, Homicide, Cold Case, and other units), I can tell you from direct experience that a significant proportion of reported sexual penetrations without consent turn out to be false allegations. False accusations are profoundly damaging, first to the innocent person wrongly accused, and second to genuine victims whose credibility is undermined when reports are later disproven.

I’ve investigated and arrested individuals responsible for some of the most serious and disturbing crimes (experiences I still find difficult to discuss). Today I investigate workplace sexual harassment and assault allegations for a large organisation, while also providing ongoing support to impacted persons with empathy, respect, and dignity throughout the process.

So when you make assumptions or lecture me based solely on one informed post - without knowing anything about my background or work - I take genuine offence at the characterisation. I remain deeply committed to seeking justice for real victims.

So apparently Kane Cornes nearly “drove off the road” when he heard kingy say that we’d back our system in against st kilda and nas and not get too caught up in tagging. (Which imo I think is just kingy not showing his hand as he seems like an adaptable coach who can respond to issues on game day as they arise).

Firstly, is Cornes expectation that coaching tactics are an open forum for everyone to hear and understand?

Also, surely opposition supporters are also getting tired of Kane’s Melbourne inquisition. I don’t think running us into the ground is still selling papers like it did for the last two years.
