Clearances 8-1, i50s 9-1, contested possessions 21-9 - they are flogging us so far. Brand petracca and Oliver need to extract the digitย

well come henderson. good finish

At least he can kick a drop punt dead in frontย

Jefferson gives me Weiderman vibes.

JVR influential. Well done again, Hendo.

Have to clean up our on ground play. Constantly 2nd to the ball.ย

Jolly good kick Number 43!

Good to see we are back to 22,23 and 24 football stagnant.ย

We'd be scoreless if Toby Pink wasn't playing.

we can getting rinsed around the ball. wake up mids

needs to hit the gym

Should be 3-4 goals down here, so we're lucky they've been inaccurate. Getting dominated around the ball and in territory.

Midfield getting torched as expected. Hoping we steady nicely as the game goes on, but the roos young mids are very talented.

Langdon has got soap on his hands. Literally cannot keep hold of the ball. At this stage the midfield experiment is not working.

We have 10-15 to turn up - otherwise game over.ย

Once again Petracca, Viney and Oliver being shown up for why we are so heavily reliant in them and why clubs have easily worked them out since 2021.

Goodwin is clueless and has no plan B.

Yuck. Theyโ€™re waltzing the ball everywhere. Lucky weโ€™re not 4-5 down.ย

8 scoring shots to 2. I expected them to put up a fight today, but jeez our midfield can really go to sleep at times.

  • THE STATS FILES: St. Kilda

As part of the effort to trim the runtime of the regular podcast, weโ€™ve been looking at which segments could be reshaped without losing what makes them valuable. One segment that naturally came into focus was Binmanโ€™s Stats Files. Not because it isnโ€™t important; quite the opposite. Itโ€™s become such a substantial and much-loved part of the show that it deserves a little room to breathe.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourneโ€™s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last yearโ€™s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although itโ€™s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sundayโ€™s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to foolโ€™s gold.
