Yes they are definitely problems. It's difficult seeing them back before the Geelong  game. Well Kossie won't be for sure.

I thought Kosi was only going to miss the 3 matches.

Everyone earns their spot, nobody gets a cheap game for being a high pick

Oliver was  about pick 5 and played a year in the VFL

I'm a Spargo fan, he cracks in and is a good kick.  My only gripe is bringing him back underdone.   It happened last time and frankly he should play VFL for a couple of weeks.

How do you know he's underdone?

I know it won’t last but if we get 21 and 1 goal from Sparrow every week, we’ll be doing ok.

Seriously this time... Been a while since I've been to a game at Colonial Stadium

I got 2 X Kids GA tickets in my MFC App, if I buy myself a single GA, where would we end up getting a seat...?

Should we GA or Reserved?

Debuted in round one of his first season and played 13 senior games that year.

Sorry my bad, you said before not for, I read it wrong.

No problem BA. It's sad really would Kossie have been the difference last week? We will never know of course but I am leaning that way?

And got 2 Brownlow votes in his first game IIRC.

I reckon it did cost us

Kozzie needs to change the way he attacks the contest.  He isn't in the protected species category (like some players from certain clubs are)

Players need to be aware of how to tackle properly and bumping anytime (or even side on bracing for contact) is fraught with danger

I understand that Moore went to ground when Kozzie contacted him but you just can't lead with the shoulder these days (unless you are Maynard or Cripps)

Spargo was a big favourite of mine in 21 but his form has fallen away sharply since then. Would be great for the team if he can get back to his 21 level of performance

At training today (I wasn’t there but my ghostwriter was) Charles’ face came up on the big screen and everyone was getting around him. Make of that what you will 😁

Ghosty's, ghosty?? Sounds like an apparition!

Nah she’s a living breathing person. Goes to every training session at Crannie as she calls it coz she lives up the road in Franga as she calls it. I call it Frankghanistan, but I live in St Albans (or Snorbs as I call it) so I can’t talk. 🤣

While she’s there she sends me detailed reports but asks me not to share most of the info because she’s hella superstitious and truly believes it will mozz players 🤷‍♀️

Here’s hoping Spargo is somewhat back to his 2021-22 form, because the Spargo of 2023-24 shouldn’t be getting a game.

Bit harsh to give Langford the sub vest and just one quarter, then drop him.

The other two changes make sense, position-wise.

Posters saying we will finish 13, imagine if we lost like Collingwood did in opening round

The difference last night was their big bodies and experience namely Howe and Sidebottom in that last quarter. We really struggle against small quick teams, who smack us in transition. McRae is a good coach that plays Collingwood to its strengths. Voss and Goodwin could both learn a thing or two especially for close games. I saw a stat that said Collingwood is like 20 wins 4 losses in games decided by less than a goal under McRae. I checked Goodwin's stats and he is like 15 wins 20 losses in those games since 2017. Not a great record. We have always struggled in close games under Goodwin. Collingwood might have lost big against GWS but they adjusted quickly. We lost to Freo by 90 last year and never recovered. It really spooked us.

So the moral of my story is that I wouldn't compare us to Collingwood. Yet.

The difference between Collingwood/ Giants and us in close games is the mindset. Collingwood / Giants are attacking well drilled teams, they go for the win. Goodwin is conservative and tries not to lose. Case in point against Giants last week when that kick in from full back was about to take place. Giants had. W60 sign held up on interchange bench which I can assume is a minute left we need to go for it, which they did and they got the win.
Collingwood last night with a minute to go hold up the stop sign, which you assume is to do whatever it takes to slow play down and not give up a goal. Depending on where the ball is and the time left in quarter they manage the game well…… if there is a team that concedes more red time goals than Melbourne I would love to know who they are. These teams are better organised, drilled and disciplined that is why they win the close games more often than not

For anyone wondering if old mate Nathan Williamson (umpire #22) is officiating at our match having done so at last night’s match… breathe easy, he’s not.

Here’s the schedule…
