Slightly different as Chandler takes him part side on and slams him into the turf. Curtis is completely from behind. Very hard for Curtis to change anything when the player immediately falls to his knees propelling them both forward.

But I think that works in Chins favour. He lets him go and doesn’t drive him into the ground. Whereas Curtis technique didn’t allow for him to take any mitigating action so I’d argue he is more liable.

Favouritism. Clearly.

I do wonder if Maynard hadn't come along and bulged his forehead vein and created a drama, would it have been 3 weeks?

The theatre is the thing.

That Kozzie bump result was a disgrace Both players shaped to bump and Moore drops to his knees in the last second.

I f*ing hate Collingwood

Crow’s full back reported for light kick to Finlayson.

No injury.

Crows play the Pies next week.

Hmmm!

Hmmm!

I get your conspiracy theory but he won’t get suspended for that.

A silly match day report from the umpire considering they seldom make them anymore.

Was that Hawk player reported for tripping Kozzie. lol….!!!

It is a reportable offence. I’d be gobsmacked if he wasn’t T least fined for it.

Marshall and Hewitt both fined in Friday night’s game for tripping. The former for “attempting to trip”. I’m heading to AFL House if the Hawk’s player isn’t at least fined.

He's seemingly got away with it (again)

The AFL would admit that the umpire missed the call, if he gets a tripping report. The AFL would rather make 2 bad decisions, than admit an error and accept accountability.

They are too busy telling us how good the umpiring is.

No way Hardwick gets any sanction - he plays for one of the chosen 5 teams this year - the others being Gold Coast, Essendon, Collingwood and Geelong. Brisbane the other team that will finish top 6 but most likely won't need umpires assistance.

At the moment, we are the Be Sharps after Barney goes all John and Yoko.

Merritt???

Thanks, and what else could I have expected? Duty of care covers accidents for certain players.

Brownlow Medalist decided....hmm

There was nothing in the Merrett incident if you have a proper look at it.

Regarding the Pickett unpaid blatant trip, the only surprise is that he wasn't penalised for kicking in danger.

The old saying "you should have been more careful" doesn't apply here, to prospective B Medalist.

Afl allegedly won’t be commenting on it

The club should

someone should be sent to a gulag in Siberia for that

Apparently there’s a matrix for some clubs and not others

Hardwick tripping??? Had to be fined $5000 for a deliberate trip. AFL must come clean. It was an umpiring mistake. Ok we have to accept the wrong decision. Note Marshall got a fine for attempting to trip. MRO is confusing !!

HQ chosen finalists all good. Other teams beware - except Carlton of course.

And given a three week suspension for staging.

No it's not. It is deliberately inconsistent.

Further evidence of corruption in my opinion. Read the MFC injury report on Xavier Lindsay post Brisbane game and weigh that up with the MRO’s ‘nothing to see here’. Watch the replay of the incident and you will note that the ball was a metre above where the swinging arm made contact with Lindsay’s head/neck!

wasn’t anywhere near a suspendible offence

Maybe not DubDee but should have been cited and a financial penalty, what if he has a late onset of concussion??

  • Thank You Simon Goodwin

As Demon fans, we’ve ridden a rollercoaster of emotions over the decades; the heartbreaks, the near misses, the wooden spoons, and the endless waiting. But through it all, we clung to hope. And then came Simon Goodwin. Before he ever wore red and blue, he was a champion in his own right. A five-time All-Australian, two-time Best and Fairest, and two-time premiership hero and Captain with Adelaide, Simon Goodwin was always destined to lead. When he transitioned from the field to the coach's box, first as an assistant at Essendon, he began shaping a new legacy.

  • PREVIEW: Western Bulldogs

Long ago and far away, the Melbourne Football Club replaced its coach in difficult circumstances after the team suffered a devastating loss. In the aftermath, I penned the following words: “Then came the politics, the intrigue, the axing, the sound of the football world laughing at a club, the circling of the media vultures, the reinvention of history, the anger, the irony, the pathos, the hurt on the face of the president, the dignified departure of the coach, and the determination of the newly appointed caretaker.” Today, we’re back in the same place although one difference here is that the coach who was terminated this time is Simon Goodwin, the man who four years ago

  • REPORT: West Coast

The Charles Dickens novel, A Tale of Two Cities, opens with, “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, …”  This phrase highlights many of the significant challenges that humanity encounters in life, ranging from experiencing remarkable highs to living in times of despair. This is a concept that should resonate with all supporters of the Melbourne Football Club this morning as they reflect on its comprehensive 83-point victory over the struggling West Coast Eagles at Marvel Stadium. The outcome proved beyond doubt that they are the worst of clubs and that we are the best of the worst.
