I’ve never seen a player as injured or cramped as Diacos being asked to play on especially the game is over

Either manage his hydration in the first place or take him off

There is just no regeneration at the Glasshouse, they really are in for some pain.

We are in trouble next week.

Giants missing their 2 best players in Green and Hogan. Their ruckman goes down with concussion. Also missing Stringer Ricardi  etc

and they have walked all over the Pies

Fatigue in their first game being the reason is embarrassing and hilarious

Interesting to see how we go next week will be a good barometer … not watching the game today but are the conditions impacting or is GWS much better?

GWS have moved to 3rd favourite on Betfair.
$7 Hawthorn
$7.40 Brisbane
$7.60 GWS

Round 1 form is always overrated.  Get on the Dees for next week!

Running over the top of the Pies, fast movement out of stoppages, better ball movement, running defensively, defending as a unit.

We are pushing 💩 up a hill for next week.

Watch the minute of play at about 8 minutes(of play) from the end. The run-down tackle on Membrey in the goal-square, followed by an end to end goal for GWS.

Story of the day.

Collingwood will make noises about fatigue (lol) and their kicking (their own fault - failure to get to good positions or create space and time for clean shots) but in the end GWS have been too fast, too skillful, and too energetic.

Could have been even worse but a couple of GWS tall forwards got the jitters with a few marks they should have taken.

I’ve clearly missed something, the Pies were so slick against the Tigers two weeks ago.

I could get a kick against the Tigers

Just back from watching live

Collingwood look pretty slow - yeah it was hot but I think there are too many plodders to take on the likes of GWS or Hawks, Freo

Really impressed by Finn OCallahan wow he can run

Sam Taylor is a gem

Darcy Jones is a very handy small

They will be a very good test for our boys next week make no mistake

As for the pies I know it’s only opening round but I think they will struggle to play finals - their future doesn’t look that bright to me - hopefully I’m right 😀

I hear they are auctioning off the boot that smacked Maynard in the face

First bid, $10,000

Admittedly I am not a high performance coach but I would have given Daics a Gatorade prior to game

    HIGHLIGHTS/LOWLIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Melbourne traveled across the continent to take on the Fremantle Dockers in sweltering conditions at Mandurah south of Perth in a game that delivered the club both its highlight and its lowlight in the first minute.  But first, let’s start by doing away with the usual cliches used in connection with the game. It was just a practice match and the result didn’t matter. Bad kicking is bad football. The game was played in severe heat, the swirly breeze played havoc with both teams resulting in

    TRAINING: Friday 28th February 2025

A couple of Demonland Trackwatchers headed down to Gosch's Paddock to bring you their observations from today's training session before the Demons head off to Perth for their final Practice Match. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Beautiful morning, not much wind, more than a couple of dozen spectators.  The players were up and about, boisterous and having fun. One of their last drills were three teams competing in a hard at it, handball game in a small area. Goody

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom
