Look in all honesty it wasnt that long ago that we were all panicking about Kozzi going to Freo - if we had the choice between a generational x factor talent or a kid who played one sensational year with elite disposal and decision making and a second year where he seemed to lose both of those attributes I know which one id take.

Cant we get a player in this trade somehow?

Players going to the preseason draft always reminds me of Luke Ball who threatened to take a year off footy if we picked him up. good times...

BTW which one you guys updated Judd's wikipedia to describe him as a well known lefti-wing minor party advocate?

McVee was drafted by Melbourne with their first selection and eighteenth overall in the 2022 rookie draft.[2] He made his debut in the fifty point win to Western Bulldogs at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in the opening round of the 2023 season.[3] He wore number 41 in his first two seasons, until changing to 4 before season 2024.

He is a well known left-wing activist with ties to The Australian Greens, frequently campaigning for the minor party. [4]

Classic.

No wonder he didn't fit in with the blue blooded Tories at the MFC, lol.

Yep. First round pick or he goes into the draft. The message to the comp that we are prepared to PSD players I think could be more valuable than a pick 35 in a weak draft

I think we'd be doing the whole comp a favour to be honest. What could really make it bite for Judd and any other like him and Freo if there was say a second player of similar calibre that their current club took a similar stance. Neither player could be assured of getting back to their state of preference.

Honestly, I think it's long overdue that clubs took a stance like this. Time that every out of contract player stopped acting like they are a free agent.

I just find it hard to believe that so many people, including club officials, have been lied to all year by a player.

Really?

Remember what that Tom $cumy bloke did to us?

I don't quite put Judd in that league, but I do think it's pretty rich that a bloke that we gave an opportunity as a rookie when others didn't packs their bags after just a few seasons. Pretty poor form in my book.

Actually, that’s all wrong - he’s MAGA

Begone #JMcV4!

We move on. Juddas has decided to move on. Now let’s get the best deal and focus on the players who want to stay and work hard to improve and get fitter and stronger.

The whole thing stinks

Even if it’s true that he and Lily separated, it doesn’t explain waiting for 12 odd months to sign a contract you were given and had amended multiple times.

Lots of excuses re: role, waiting for a new coach, but IMO Freo and his WA manager were in his ear all year and finally got what they wanted.

And if anyone says “home sick” I’ll remind you Judd is not from Perth, and WA has two teams.

Funny how he isn’t requesting a trade to the wooden spooners isn’t it?

Time for us to force them to WestCoast via the preseason draft 😤

Exactly... tis a brand nu day

A new season begins with a new coach, a new attitude and any number of new Dees to come.

No point worrying about a naughty boy

Welcome to work Steve 😉

According to Chat GPT over the last 10 years out of contract players traded of similar age who had played 50-75 games and requested a home state trade.

Tom Mitchell + pick 57 - received pick 14 and 52
Ed Langdon + pick 26 + future 4th - received pick 22, 79 and future 2nd

Jake Lever + pick 35 + future 3rd - received Pick 10 + future 1st+ future 4th
Jordon Dawson - received Pick 17

Based on this precedent 29 certainly feels like unders in a weak draft. 11 on it's own even pushing out slight overs but with some later swaps likely reasonable. I suggest Freo will push for 29 but wonder how hard we work to bring WC into play and threaten a PSD path rather than a pick we likely don't use/need.

Very disappointed in young Judd, obviously trying to get the best deal out of the Dockers whilst telling fibs and playing us for fools. Not happy Judd.👎

Isn't that where we started the run of kicking more points than goals🤔

you dont know what he said.

Just now, Adam The God said:

I'm going on his 2023-2024, non-injury exposed for. He's a gun and people can downplay it as much as they like, but he's a loss.

Not to say we can't replace him though. Let's hope so.

Yes his 2023-2024 was good to very good.

This year was poor, if he stays we would be hoping for a significantly better year! But this year I have more memories of him coughing up the ball or losing contest. I thought he was on Rankine against the Crows and got pantsed!

So if he goes disappointed to lose him, as feel he can play much better than he showed this year. But he was poor/ordinary this year, so covering his lack of output should be achievable!

Not worth 11 in a weak draft. 29 is probably fair. But we should all complain how poor he was and demand overs at the same time!!

Well apparently he told two forum members that he HAD signed. Now I've absolutely no reason to either doubt the word of these posters nor believe they have any reason to lie . Do you ?

Pick 29 is probably what we end up with I’d say. I would be hoping for a bit more but it rarely plays out that way( unless your dealing with the Suns)

Very unlikely we would be able to pick up a player of Judds quality with that pick. Which goes to show the value of being able to attract quality players from other teams.

We are currently not an attractive option for players so have to top up high end talent via the drafts and hope King and the list management team can make us a more attractive option both in terms of brand of footy and $$$$.

Even if we nail our picks in the next 2 drafts we will be competing with Tassie for mature players after that and won’t be able to offer anywhere near the same money.

i absolutely do have reason to disagree. As of yesterday it was one person here who couldnt wait to get on here and gossip about what they thought they heard.

Get back to me when you can tell me the exact conversation and setting where it took place. Otherwise dont accuse one of our players - ex, a liar.

Freo are probably still salty that we tried to lure TJ back. Remember the comment from their CEO: "I think Melbourne should take our players' names out of their mouths," Garlick said on SEN radio.

So they will probably try a silly offer. While 'feather in my cap' Bell is gone, I'm not sure this lot are any easier to deal with.

Note: Clearly they didn't heed their own advice, above in luring McVee. Hypocrites !!! Yes, I know spin is the second language in the AFL ... just venting as I'm still hurting Judd is leaving🥹
