For the picks that they'd net us, it'd be possible for sure.

I don't think the same for Oliver and I genuinely think that there's still tension between players due to Oliver's mishaps over the journey. Which is part of why we're a disconnected group and a group that seem to play for themselves.

We are carrying Oliver and it's weighing the club down in more than one way.

I must say, heading into this season I was of the view that we should move Petracca and retain Oliver, as Oliver was likely of more benefit to us long-term; think output, age and role. But that has completely inverted this season. Oliver is miles off his best and I'm not sure he'll ever get back there. Petracca seems, at least to the outside viewer, bought back in to the Club and has been rather reasonable this season. He's been far closer to his best than that of Oliver.

I'd be very surprised if Oliver wasn't in the red and blue next season though. His form has nosedived and the contract is likely to be far too much of an obstacle, especially with his current demonstrated output on gameday.

I wouldn't necessarily be adverse to moving both of them on, but I suspect both will be with us next season.

Yeh, I know not everyone will agree.

I just think Trac can bounce again, especially with a change of coach. He is completely solid off-field. Clarry STILL isn't. Trac is elite in his prep, lives a professional athletes life, has a partner, is settled etc etc.

Clayton is a lost boy and it shows on the field. The way he lives his life directly translates to how he plays imv. Completely erratic, too loose, doesn't bother thinking through situations with ball in hand. We've been covering the cracks for a long time with Goody's boring talk about it all. Connectedness etc. . But I've known for sometime that not all is well between players. And it's shown throughout the year at various stages.

It's as if people forget that two of our prime movers wanted out less than 12 months ago.

I think it was fanciful thinking that we were magically going to recover as a group from that. Whether people like it or not, that's a big issue that can have a lasting effect emotionally. And with the scrutiny and media pressure put on elite athletes in this day and age, it's naturally going to become ANOTHER negative factor that will impact performance at some level along the way.

We've been trying to bandaid things for way too long. And this is the result of that dodgy patchwork.

A quarter like that.

You'll get the same posters blowing it off as if it's nothing. Cause that's the bubble they like to live in. But it's a big issue and something has to give now.

The club says it needs to be more ruthless. Well here's a good place to start. He has taken the negotiation off the table, so withdraw the current offer and reduce it by 25%. Take it or leave sunshine

Mcvee is the future , along with Kozzzy, Riv, Langford, Lindsay etc.

Get them a coach who can develop players, develops a strategy and moves with the changing construct of the game

I think our young brigade is waiting for an outcome on Goodwin.

If he's kept as the SC for next year look at many of our young guns to re-think their future with the MFC unfortunately.

Even though neither are anywhere near their absolute best BLWNBA both are firmly in our top three this year and would leave a hole in our list if either depart the team, our youngsters are still a year or so away from taking their spots. Unless we received top grade trades in lieu I think we would be more the loser.

McVee has probably played 2 decent games this year otherwise he has varied between ordinary & woeful.

Would not get a game in any top 6 side on his current form.

It could actually be the other way round... the players seem to LOVE SG. From their point of view the onfield performance could be more about other factors - off field management, players behaviour off field etc

Im with you on this. I remember too well the reactionary push against Bailey which opened up the darkest chapter of my time as a supporter under Neeld. Neeld who was going to toughen the players up and lost them in his first pre season. We need to be strong enough as a club not too wilt under the sack SG outcry and really investigate ALL of the factors.

Well he actually owes his entire career to us. He wasnt taken in the main pre-season draft in 2021 and was the last unaligned player taken in the Rookie Draft at pick 18 .The MFC threw him a lifeline and he probably otherwise would still be at Geraldton .We then gave him a full year to develop at Casey .The minimum we can expect in return is that ,even if he is leaving, he in the meantime at least tries.

Just offer him the standard 10 year deal with the option for another 5 if he meets targets

He’s checked out already. There is a contract on the table. Players try hard in contract years unless they already have a new suitor lined up elsewhere.
