No gratitude or thank you to the club. The interviewer might not have broached the topic but he could have proactively said a good word about the Dees like Nibbler did when he went to the Crows.

When Freo Recruit Made the Call to Leave the Dees (SEN)

“Then, in my final year in 2025 I got halfway through the year and decided to pack up and come home. … Freo presented very well to me, I saw the opportunity and thought I’d definitely take it.”

If that's true I withdraw my defence of him.

I have only ever booed one former Demon and I don't even say his name.

I won't be booing any of our recent departures.

One suggestion to players wanting to leave, maybe say nothing, it's better than misleading loyal fans, who actually care about you.

Will it be Scully levels (10) where Melbourne supporters forgot there was a game of footy on

He's in Howe (7) territory for me.

There was zero chance you would have made the AFL without us, [censored]. Hope you can find some gratitude between barnstorming runs off a half back flank for Peel Thunder. At least Howe got to a hundred games for us.

Probably made up his mind after costing us the Port game after Rankine cut him to pieces.

I think he felt very deflated, and there was nowhere to hide after that game. You either move on or move out after that.

I’ll boo him for sure but I’ll boo Petracca. I’m an easy boo though. Might boo Oliver depends if I need a laugh or not.

You and i sound like we will get along at the footy. Ill sneak in a megaphone when we play Freo, Suns and Giants.

This is the only way you can obtain a booing exemption. Even then, its discretionary. Petracca, Exhibit A.

In Scotland it's also a word for something else, GW.

LOL. I haven't heard it used for a long time but then again I haven't been back home for a while. I didn't mean it in that context in my original post my the way.

I just typed “Fudd mea…” and “Fudd meaning in Scotland” popped up, so clearly I’m not alone in wanting to know. 😁 There were several meanings listed, I just assumed it was the worst one.

Faaark you Judd. I will boo you until the day you retire

Yup. With one d if I remember correctly.

We’re only allowed to boo one person and one person only. That’s Maynard. No matter how much folks wanna boo anyone else in the entire league it’s strictly forbidden. The funny thing is, it’s obvious some in the cheer squad at times badly wanna boo someone other than Maynard but have to suppress the urge. Therefore when we boo Maynard he’s copping months worth of pent up anger and frustration. 😅

Yikes

Sport is a business and all that, but he’s not exactly endearing himself to Dees supporters is he?

They're not too smart are they. Just say nothing or at least "I was torn because the club were so good to me..."

I think this is just a little bit the nature of modern footy, guys are going to chase money or go home. He definitely could have handled it better and with a bit more class but he’s young and he will learn. I hope he plays well at freo just not against us

Who is Crud Muc Veel??

you mightn’t boo him..( McVee) but if he’s standing there at full back 5 metres from you on game day ( picking up Latelle) , you surely would be tempted to thank him for all the honesty?

I might have the opportunity sooner than that, really soon actually, the women’s B&F is this Sunday. I very much doubt he’ll be there, though. He probably won’t fly over for it. But even if he did, I hold no grudge against him.

I’m not gonna go into detail because that’d be an invitation for the usuals to slip straight back into mocking mode, but I’ve since learned something that explains why he said what he said.

I’m not angry at him, I never was.

Actually, I'm more annoyed with his lack of good grace now.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

It’s late February. Two teams widely predicted to finish near the foot of the AFL table in 2026 face off against each other in sweltering 30-degree heat deep in outer suburbia in a match simulation with fresh new faces and uneven team numbers. There are no nearby sheep stations on offer; the result promises nothing more than bragging rights for the winner. Nevertheless, the loser appears hopelessly adrift, whereas the other seems to have found its footing after a couple of years of struggle – perhaps a hint at bigger things to come?
