Injuries meant a delayed start to his season and, although he showed his athleticism and his speed at times, he was unable to put it all together consistently. Needs to show much more in 2025 and a key will be his fitness.

Just needs to get his body right, soft tissue injuries only indicates a lack of fitness.

If he can get himself ''right'' then we are a much better team especially up forward with his marking ability for his size.

Turns 30 next year so basically this investment was for three years, and a third of that investment has been an utter failure. Just a terrible, terrible trade so far. Hopefully he can have a good season or two, or better yet, a winning moment in a final, but I won't hold my breath.

That was shocking haha

Have to pull your finger 👉 out this year Shane.

No questions asked.

Time to repay the faith.

Let's see how he is going during pre-season with interruptions.

If he can finish a pre-season then it indicates he is on

High priced  thirty year old who has tacked together fifty games primarily as a bench man.

It’s a crime if yo ask me.

My two fingers have just gone to my two eyes.......

In the least surprising development ever, a player who was lazy, half hearted and injury prone at Adelaide became a lazy, half hearted and injury prone player at Melbourne.

A shocking recruitment decision that we have to live with for another two years. My biggest regret is that we can't make him play in a local league until he gets serious.

Yep shocking business🤮

Like many I watched McAdam closely at VFL level. After some passable early games (vertical leap and mark) he went way backwards in his return stint. No defensive skills and other than his marking he seems to have few other skills (ground skills especially).

Hard to say it but Schache showed more at VFL in his first Demons year.

I'm prepared to be wrong but if so I will be surprised.

Very disappointed with our trading skills when Billings is head and shoulders in front of everyone else

Get yourself right Shane there are only so many opportunities to make it and there are opportunities aplenty in our forward line in ‘25 if you are the man.

Shane McAdam's season actually made me quite angry.

He was horrible! Unfit, slow, lazy, could barely kick 30 metres, kept trying unrealistic attempts to mark the ball.

Overall, a massive disappointment.

Hope he has a big Pre-Season and comes back fit and strong.

Otherwise, it's another trade fail from the Demons list management team.

If there was a hammer emoji I'd have used it because this comment totally nails it. Well said.

Oh, look what I found: 🔨

Age 29 and with 53 games to his name. Bloody hell. We really must have thought we could reform this character.

Now he is effectively a swap with ANB so it looks even worse.

Wow, I thought he was like 24. No idea what they were thinking with that trade. Start from zero next year and please Shane, give us something.

I remember reading online so many comments from Adelaide supporters rating him highly and a match winner as a player.  The old disclaimer "once he get's his body right" was thrown around a bit as well and I believe one of the reasons he came across was he was upset with the crows medical/fitness team.

He was very good with forward line pressure in a few games I remember him playing for the crows so I didn't mind us chasing him thinking he would be a good get and add another exciting dimension to our forward line.

There is no doubt he has talent but obviously needs to get significantly fitter, get his explosive power up and hopefully complete a full preseason.

It seems unlikely he'll make an impact however as his body does seem quite brittle so I'd be surprised to see him much this year.

Not everyone's body can handle the rigour of AFL footy.

Agree 100% with your summation DJ. Some games he even struggled to justify his spot at Casey.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
