Since the Bombers won a final

Has there ever been such a fall from grace? The best team in the league to a laughing stock. And they say the Demons culture is no good? Culture and arrogance killed and are continuing to kill this horrible club

Heres to another 20!

It is written in the stars, after all we lost to the replacements.

The perfect bookend considering it started with a win over us.

There's another 'streaky' thread might suit this better, Red.

Although, thankfully, we haven't had to see it for a while, its raison d'être having been progressively and greatly reduced in these recent successful years.

I remember that Final when they beat us.  We were coming back strongly near the end, less than a goal behind, when Brad Miller gave them a downfield free , leading to the sealer for them.

Although we lost, this was one of the most electric finals I can remember us playing. When Wrecker Whelan laid that bump (when you could do it) on Hird which lead to Johnstone's running goal at the city end the adrenaline cranked up to 11.

I'm always uncomfortable slagging off other teams, considering the doldrums we have been in for lengthy periods of time.

It's probably useful to consider that Individuals within regimes come and go, and the entire edifice of Essendon, particularly post substance use has been reworked from the inside.

Carry on though... 😎

It wouldn't be half as much fun if it wasn't for the media pumping them up and inventing new catchphrases for them every single year.

Maintains the social licence to continue mocking them.

Appreciate the alternate opinion Mr. Onion.

However, considering the decades of abuse we’ve copped from bombers fans I think they deserve a bit back. 😊

Trudat. But their fans were, still are, and always will be the most repugnant, obnoxious uncultured swine. That never changes.

edit: Thanks muchly for creating this thread, @DubDee!!! It’s a haven I’ll visit when life gets me down. 😁

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
