No worries, Curnow will sort out our issues up forward. 🤝

Ed making a comeback after retirement. Nice, I wish him all the best even if he is more of a midfield tagger than a forward.

Wc forward ok but midfield speed also would be nice.

It's pretty sad to say, but I'm actually a bit thankful he won't be there just out of fear of a fan, downing a few too many chardonnays and getting a bit 'passionate' towards Christian and maybe whoever he takes to the night.

Yeah too right....

This was me with Trent Rivers at the B@F a couple of years ago at about 10:30pm:

The interview with Trac the club just put out is really lovely, I have to say. Doesn’t stop me being still a tad angry with him but it’s diminishing!

Any smile is a good one from him right now.

No, ironically I look a bit like Champ!

Great to hear he can crank up his training and he is so motivated to be right for day 1 of preseason

This may seem rather left field. But seeing that the Houston idea seems almost totally lost, I wonder whether the recruiting department could look at lining up a meeting between Houston and Trac.  Seeing Trac's recent interview where he talks about the positives from the last few weeks-the healthy robust discussions and how he is really committed and energised regarding next year.

Talking with Houston about how he would look forward to playing with him and what Houston could offer the Dees and vice versa. It might clear the air and clear out some of the concerns Houston may have had. At the very least, there seems nothing to lose by trying this.

Almost as good as when you bailed up Blake Howes for 20 minutes only to later find out it was Daniel Turner…

I think the damage has already been done. You cannot walk back the absolute [censored] storm we had in the last few months. It didn’t play out well for us, nor Trac.

The best thing we can hope for is Houston stays out, we redeem ourselves and try again for slightly less of an asking price in 12 months.

Great to see Christian Petracca smiling.

His interview seemed very honest and sincere in what he said.

I could never stay mad at the man who helped us end our 57 year Premiership drought in 2021 and won a Norm Smith Medal.

I wish Christian Petracca a wonderful time on his holidays in Europe and hope he enjoys himself at the Redbull Elite Fitness Centre.

Fingers crossed Christian Petracca has an excellent year in 2025. Would love to see him in the future win more Premiership Medallions for the Melbourne Demons and possibly a Brownlow Medal too!

I reckon the Houston trade went cold for a number of reasons - but the club was probably expecting to part with pick 10-14 as its first round pick. When that came in significantly over the last 4 weeks of the season the price became unreasonable. There’s a huge difference between ‘first round’ and top 5.

If he does move it’ll be interesting to watch what the eventual cost is.

Not sure when the B&F is, but surely you’d think Tracc might think it important to spend that night with his teammates - to get some brownie points at least. Surely he could head OS after that night.

Yes there is - we might waste a high draft pick on a mature/aging HBF.

But not as good as the time we introduced ourselves to Tom Scully at the 2009 draft party at the MCG:

Not a peep from the media yet re the completion of feasibility but one straight away that Trac will miss the BNF.

Channel 7 news gave plenty to the feasibility story.

Redemption Branding

They really made sure to tick all the boxes:

Can’t wait for next year

Disappointing to miss finals

All great mates and life long friends

Setting myself for a big 2025 with the MFC

Big smile because I’m genuinely happy

I’ve seen less contrived interviews with Macho Man Randy Savage, but who cares. He’s stuck with us (for now), he’s a jet and is driven to give his all for his own sake, regardless of whether he’s completely happy at the club. Let’s hope we make amends in 2025 in every way and he is still happy to be there.

  • GAMEDAY: Geelong

It's Game Day, and reinforcements are finally arriving for the Demons—but will it be too little, too late? They're heading down the freeway to face a Cats side returning home to their fortress after two straight losses, desperate to reignite their own season. Can the Demons breathe new life into their campaign, or will it slip even further from their grasp?

  • PREVIEW: Geelong

"It's officially time for some alarm bells. I'm concerned about the lack of impact from their best players." This comment about one of the teams contesting this Friday night’s game came earlier in the week from a so-called expert radio commentator by the name of Kane Cornes. He wasn’t referring to the Melbourne Football Club but rather, this week’s home side, Geelong. The Cats are purring along with 1 win and 2 defeats and a percentage of 126.2 (courtesy of a big win at GMHBA Stadium in Round 1 vs Fremantle) which is one win more than Melbourne and double the percentage so I guess that, in the case of the Demons, its not just alarm bells, but distress signals. But don’t rely on me. Listen to Cornes who said this week about Melbourne:- “They can’t run. If you can’t run at speed and get out of the contest then you’re in trouble.

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit.
Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

For a brief period of time in the early afternoon of yesterday, the Casey Demons occupied top place on the Smithy’s VFL table. This was only made possible by virtue of the fact that the team was the only one in this crazy competition to have played twice and it’s 1½ wins gave it an unassailable lead on the other 20 teams, some of who had yet to play a game.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

In my all-time nightmare game, the team is so ill-disciplined that it concedes its first two goals with the courtesy of not one, but two, fifty metre penalties while opening its own scoring with four behinds in a row and losing a talented youngster with good decision-making skills and a lethal left foot kick, subbed off in the first quarter with what looks like a bad knee injury.
