I don’t completely disagree with what she said though. 

I would expect her to reach out and express her best wishes, which I’m sure he has done. To both Trac and the family. But she is not the avenue to solve this problem as much as people think.

She is in fact Trac’s bosses (Goody) bosses (Richo) bosses (Pert) boss.  In a workplace environment have you ever sat down directly to solve a major problem with the Board chair? I can guarantee that rarely happens. She wouldn’t even be on the task force to work on this issue, in fact neither should Pert unless Richo and Goody are completely incapable at fixing this.

Once you apply a corporate lens, (on reflection as my immediate reaction was to crucify her) I’m not really surprised to what she is saying.

I’m still hopeful this can occur. I remember a post Christian did once on social media which ended with ‘fans are the heart and soul of football clubs’.

I think this was on show through our season. 

Agree, I think the next step is a change at board level.  But that's a separate discussion

Yess but if I get injured at work I'd expect my boss to be in regular contact with me.

I don’t believe any other club will take on his current contract as it stands and very few have the capacity to do so. If he insists on joining a premium club he will have to take a financial haircut and shortened contract with lots of fine print added to address his unresolved injury concerns,

That's my understanding of it. In fact we could sue for breach of contract.

I don't know if this is re-assuring or ominous but do agree with DL, he knows more than he is letting on.

The club really need to hold ground on this, any question they get about Christian should've just been a positive response like "We love him and we agree with him on certain issues and will work to fix them". 

Instead, it looks like some people on the inside are speaking to the media and making reconciliation a lot tougher. I cringe every time I see a fan take a pop at Christian on here or Reddit, Insta or X. Calling him Judas when nothing has happened yet isn't a good way to show him and his family how much he is loved by the club.

The media seem to be clutching at straws in regards to why he wants to leave.

Issues with the club re his injury or He wants to play in front of bigger crowds, two completely different things.

Kate Roffey was everywhere when Melbourne won a premiership despite being pretty new to the presidency. She disappeared when things got tough. That SEN interview shows Melbourne needs to change things up top.

Now that the club president has acknowledged that she has not been in touch with Petracca's family for "a while", perhaps we have a clearer picture.

The impact of his injuries on family members, who know how close he was to death, must be causing additional trauma that is still being acutely felt as this saga rumbles on.

If the club's leader shows no interest in personally supporting the family, all the media chatter about a "toxic culture" might just have  some basis in fact.

Kate Roffey could clear the air immediately, simply by revealing Petracca's principal concerns and any steps being taken by the board to address them.

What is being hidden, and why?

 

How many presidents (of organisations/companies) or CEO's contact general staff for injury, trauma, we'll being etc.  I've gone through a traumatic ordeal in the last couple of years far far greater than what he's been through and only my boss reached out to provide support.  

And by boss I mean direct manager, and their boss; not the top tier executive!

If the people who work closest with Trac day in day out were in touch during that time then I'd be happy with that.

Now if we find that wasn't good enough then fine, but having the President and every Tom, Fred and bootstudder in his face during that time was not necessary.

Much of what we are surmising is by joining dots and their faint ones at that, one might even say feint too. What is interesting to me are not only things that are supposedly said but also the lack of proof to the contrary and or denials..

Very easy to knock a lot of this on the head. Bang... and we get on with things. It's not going that way. Many being very very cagey. Almost all other players walking in lockstep.  There's that much secret squirrel bs going on it's palpable.
