The club’s problems are the problems of the board, management, FD etc. Supporters being loyal doesn’t change that. Collingwood supporters didn’t cause the Do Better issue. Hawthorn supporters didn’t cause the Cyril Rioli lawsuit. Essendon supporters didn’t cause the drugs scandal. 

Indirectly, supporters refusing to hold the club accountable let's it get to that stage. I've been guilty of this so I'm not saying I'm exempt.

I'm not saying we are solely or even largely to blame, of course the clubs leaders are those who are most accountable but if the supporters let the behaviour slide and have a "my club, right or wrong" view then the environment can become toxic because there is no accountability. Either we want a member run club or we want a franchise operated by the AFL. Which is it?

i think the "considered it before" refers to connors group considering it for paddy ryder getting out of contract at essendrug. nothing to do with petracca

I know he says he wants to go to a big Vic club but if none of them come knocking with a good deal and his relationship with the Dees is broken beyond repair….  

Chad Warner is out of contract next year and all the talk is he wants to go home and play with Freo. His trade value would probably be greater than Tracs. He probably wouldn’t get the same coin as Trac but it would be close.  Freo have the picks to get it done this year and Swans also have two late first rounders.

I’m sure there would be opportunities to build his brand in Sydney even if it’s not the footy bubble that Melbourne is.

It's referring to another player Connors manages, who was considering taking up a grievance to get out of a contract, not a separate circumstance that Petracca has considered.

we are paying him a lot of money but imagine if he was focused on growing his brand he may consider a lesser contract at another suitor if he believed in the long-run the move would pay dividends.

Players often struggle to get back to their best even with far less serious injuries than tracc copped.

Ed Langdon is a good example.

Langers played great footy this year, particularly the second half of the season.

But he took ages to get back to his best footy after he had his ribs broken (wasn't that against the pies too?).

His future post-footy is (possibly was now) much better aligned with a media/commentary gig… he has the personality of a lettuce leaf on social media - it won’t carry him deeply beyond his playing days

100% Binman - Langdon’s injury was Round 10 v North at Marvel in 2022 and only a couple of years later is he back to his best. 

Tarryn Thomas hit Langers in a huge tackle while he was mid air and super vulnerable and then slammed him hard into the ground.

Looking unlikely we will be able to do a decent trade this season even without the Petracca debacle factored in. As the Tassie Tigers are on the horizon, maybe best to harvest all the presenting premium draft picks and use them.

Surely a mid-game, misdiagnosed injury in a contact sport isn’t on the same level as pressuring players to opt into a banned, club-led doping program?

You never know with the AFL.  I assume the AFL will be keeping an eye on it as I imagine theyd prefer the grievance tribunal remains unused so precedents are not set etc. 

Would be typical AFL to look after the big boy clubs though.

C'mon, that's bollocks.

I have been critical of various aspects of the club's management for a long time.

But in particular i have been strident in my criticism of all our comms (in its totality, ie fan focused, social media, website, crisis management, engagement, injury updates etc).

And I have little doubt poor comms is a factor in the tracc's evident anger. 

And I have a great deal of sympathy for tracc in terms of the trauma he has experienced from a near death, life changing experience.

But what is happening right now is almost all on tracc.

He is an adult who signed a muti million long term contract just three years ago.

And now he wants out of that contract, yet is trying to achieve that aim in an incredibly immature, unprofessional way.

I mean, did he even speak with another club to test the waters before running down the club to a peanut luke Morris?

I had thought it was likely his manager that backgrounded Morris.

I no longer think that because any such manager would never work in the business again if he leaked to the media his player wanted out without a landing place.

I mean c'mon.

So that means tracc is driving what could only charitably called a strategy (by the by, it's pathetic to blame anyone else in his orbit, tracc is an adult).

Nuclear option? Breach of contract?

Ridiculous.

I'm not suggesting the dees don't have issue to work through, but when the dust settles it will be tracc whose reputation is damaged.
