Listened to Dwanes world the other day did anyone else catch Chris from Camberwells take?? He reckons Goody will be gone by seasons end. Now I know everyone has an opinion but for some reason I have a sneaky suspicion that he could be onto something here!

Oh yes, Chris from Camberwell is definitely someone I suggest you listen to. He is not at all unhinged.

Would very much like to see Jefferson get a go. His progress this year would indicate he's worked really hard I think, and a game late in the season gives him a chance to get a feel for the pace and strength of opposition defenders and thus a target to work towards during the offseason. Otherwise, he's 6-7 months off being anywhere near a game.

Precisely correct. What would a pre-season preparation achieve if he was not - at the minimum - experienced in the demands of the big-time game, the team of participants, the desirable options onfield and the areas of his own game that could be expanded, further developed and contributory?

No Oliver will be interested because in theory Sparrow should play as a full time on baller. it'll be great to see how he goes.

Sparrow would relish something meaningful - and positive - instead of a negating role.

I'd really hope that Sparrow would be happy to take any role assigned to him that will help the team, as I would any player.

This match is a good chance for a lot of players to prove they have the desire to play on next season.

Just checked our injury list and saw it includes May, Oliver, Petracca, Windsor and Spargo.  You just can't replace those sorts of players, but it's a great opportunity for the likes of Hore, Howes, Kolt & Disco (at least) to learn and smash in.

You'd hope some of the older players that have drifted towards the end of the season, or throughout it to really come home with a wet sail too.

Go Dees!

Yes, I found myself listening to that on the way to Bunnings! Dear old Chris from Camberwell, " if you find a competitor's lower price on a recycled coach, we'll take it in place of the only bloke who has delivered a premiership in 60 years!"

Did Chris from Camberwell also say that he wouldn't be buying a membership next year if the Club didn't change the CEO, the president, the coach and the doorman?

After a promising period mid season I reckon his last month has been horrid.

A pity as I think he's one of the more intriguing players on our list

Agreed. Wonder if he will still be on the list after this year? I guess the rules changing for rookies may help

Bowey in

Oliver out

Bowza in for Clazz may see a full midfield McVee game

Has anyone got any energy left to complain about the team selections this week?

Predictable selections, predictable gameplan

We almost won last week, probably should’ve, don’t think we need wholesale changes.

In other selection news, Weid is in for Essendon.

Kynan Brown and Jefferson should be playing. Really wonder how decisions around players playing when not in form impacts the “culture” of the team. The FD have missed a trick here.

Bag a hatful Weid!

Hope he has a great game, but has been playing in the backline. On an amusing note, Carlton has on their team sheet Matthew Kennedy at FF and Elijah Hollands at CHF - Lol, lol, lol. I hope the Weagles trounce them,

Goody must think a spot in Wildcard round is on the line

Bailey Laurie must be well down the pecking order!

What purpose is served by not playing them? Jefferson playing would give him a taste for it, he’d get a feel for the pace of the game or in our case lack off.

Chris isn't the sharpest tool in the shed at the best of times.

Casey didn’t play last week, maybe that had something to do with no Jeffo.
Next week might be different.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
