Where's this rumour about Riv coming from?

I love these rumours.  A reliable source tells me  that WCW is moving to the C'wood cheer squad in 2025.

I saw on socials this deal has already been signed off.

I can tell by her posts she has one foot out the door already. Dogga vibes all over it.

If he's not allowed to get his heart rate above 110. I wouldn't recommend that he has a match day role.

My heart rate hits 180 every turnover.

I also wouldn't recommend he join in the game day thread on Dland.

Really appreciate all your work WCW!

I wouldn't recommend that to anyone who wishes to preserve their sanity.

All good. After training I walked past the coffee shop and Alejandro, my gorgeous Colombian barista called out for me to come back. He realised he’d given me the wrong drink so I got a cappuccino on the house. Ergo our season is still salvageable 😁

Meanwhile, somewhere in the Richmond area an upset customer is still waiting for their almond latte.

No, that’s how Alejandro knew he’d given me the wrong drink. He said a woman came back and was very angry about having been given my cappuccino. I said well if that’s her biggest problem, she’s doing well. Hashtag some people 🙄

No one is supposed to know that! What gave it away… having every second tooth pulled? Having not showered in a week? My I Love Eddie tatt? I know! You saw me hocking my son’s PS5 at Cashies then immediately calling my associate’s burner phone.

I reckon being back in the club environment is just as important for him. We know that he will regain his physical form, but it's the mental side of things that will be hardest to overcome.

I hope now that he's back in Melbourne and back at the club, that he is given a match day role for the remainder of the year. Would be good for him to feel involved again.

Match day role? You did read the part where he can’t get his heart rate up? 🤓

Jeffo’s height on the website is 195cm. He’s now 197cm. Calm down Pickett, he thinks that’s it… he’s not gonna grow anymore.

edit: PF, while I’ve got you and you’re calm… Claz again said for as long as Melbourne wants him he’s staying. He has no desire to leave whatsoever. I asked him if he’s confident Melbourne wants him and he said he’s doing all he can to “do the righty” by the club and they’re happy with him.

How tall is he when he stands up straight though?

Thanks WCW and all posters another interesting and entertaining read.!!

Tracc ambled around the boundary for maybe 10 mins then went back to the rooms. He seemed really happy to be out here, I reckon the boys were also glad he was here. As were all us spectators ❤️💙

Just seeing Tracc on the grass would be uplifting.

LOOK WHO’S HERE!!!!!

Yep your eyes don’t deceive you! It’s our very own CP5!

❤️💙

Question does that mean he has not cracked the sads with the Dee’s and is not going to train somewhere else in 2025.

I will take it as a good sign

I swear I didn’t tour their facilities on the bye weekend.

Almond latte - a crime against humanity.

I was talking to one of the trainers. He told me Jeffo really looks up to a certain player and this player is a role model for him. I was waiting to hear a seasoned player’s name. But no, it’s Rooey, who’s only 11 months older than him and that might just be the cutest thing I’ve ever heard. 🥹

Killing it this morning WCW

Not much footage today. I had to bin a couple of vids because I unwittingly had slo-mo on 🤭

Note: I included the first vid because it’s a little reminder that these boys are human and have feelings. So, Clarrie came into the tent and went straight to someone’s toddler, picked him up and cuddled him. I filmed the end of it. When I stopped filming I said, “That suits you Claz.” He said, “Yeah, hopefully one day,” and it was sweet and a little sad at the same time.

Thanks @WalkingCivilWar, champion effort as usual.

Notes: Ben Brown in ‘trainers blues’ rather than team reds?  I understand his knee must be problematic, but is he likely to be around the club in a different capacity next year?  he seems like a ripping bloke, and we could do worse.

Ollie Sestan’s bum looks too close to the ground.

Great to see CP5 not getting too excited.

Is that not his bestie George Gawn, aka the traitor who sings opposition team songs? 😂

Yes, it was George, except it’s Jorge when it’s Max saying it. Jess says at first it was novel and funny but now it’s a thing. 😅

Apparently George/Jorge knows the words to most of the Club songs but the Carlton one is his favourite. 🙃

BBB is still an assistant coach with our W team so he’ll be around for that. He loves that role.

Neither of his legs were strapped which is a rare sight. And yes, he’s a ripping bloke. For so many reasons he’s a beautiful human being.

Agree with you on Sesto’s bum. He has such a low centre of gravity. Makes bringing him down in a tackle difficult. I’ve noticed this in training.

  • PREVIEW: West Coast

It was bad enough that the Melbourne Football Club created yet another humiliating scenario inside its wretched season at Marvel Stadium last Sunday, but the final insult is that it has been commanded to return to the scene of the crime to inflict further punishment on its fans this week. Incidentally, if this match preview, of a game that promises to be one of the most unattractive fixtures in the history of the game, happens to cut out of your computer screen three quarters of the way through, it’s no coincidence. I’ll be mirroring the Demons’ lacklustre effort against St Kilda from last Sunday when they conceded the largest last quarter turnaround for victory in the history of the game.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

  • PREGAME: West Coast

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.
