And this is where folk like your good self find reasonable assessments so hard to swallow.

As others here have already suggested. It's not about doing everything either right or wrong. It's about being able to affect successful results in a sustained manner .

Simply having attained a flag ( and kudos to all ) does not guarantee nor qualify you ever more. What worked, now doesn't. Who was successful, now isn't.

Some, I among those , question the ability of the current FD regime which by default has Goodwin as its major influence to bring home the bacon.

It's not an overly complicated premise.

Those that find continued dissatisfaction with the current trajectory and call for change will continue to do so unless we become successful.

If that'sboring.... go find another thread.

Why are you here boring yourself ?

I'm here "boring myself" because I think that the mindless criticism needs to be challenged. But apart from saying that, I really can't be bothered replying further to your nonsense.

This thread needs a change of pace - and by pace, I mean pace, and changes.

Scotty Boland gets another shot and he nails it - match figures of 6 for 36 including a hat trick. What an absolute champion he is. And like TMac, should never be drooped again.

Are they being sponsored by Viagra? Choosing the blue pill over the red pill?

Some of us can.

LOLLLLLLL. Sticking to the topic???! Uhm no, no you don’t.

3 kids by 32.

Zero drooping

If I was a last laugh kinda gal I’d say Goody ain’t goin’ anywhere. Oh wait, I am a last laugh kinda gal… Goody ain’t going anywhere 😂😂😂

Y’all can b!ttch & moan all you like. You can say the most disrespectful about Goody. You can bag him day and night and blame everything on him, but…

He’s our head coach for 2026…

Get used to it 🤣🤣🤣

I love big Scotty. I love Nathan Lyon too but I’m glad Scotty got the call-up. A humble, no-fuss champion. And… he’s a Victorian! 🥳

Almost as boring as the Conga line of apologists telling us what a great job he's doing

Can you find me a single post, let alone a “conga line”, of people telling us what a great job Goodwin’s doing?

Why do so many have difficulty understanding the tenet of the topic.

'Time to go ' It's a suggestion. It's a valuation many of us share about should he or someone else continue.

I fully understand there's a better than even ( unfortunately) chance he will be there. But we aren't there yet. He has to show some better abilities to arrest our demise than are currently on display. Please don't think beating the Roos is the get out card to.any of this, or even a half baked Blues. But.. it's unlikely anyone at the MFC , quite frankly, would have it in them to pull that pin. Mores the pity.

All happy clappers can rejoice .

What's more important ? That Simon Goodwin is the coach or the team is given the best available at this current time. Im sure you'll suggest he is. I accept that's your position. Kindly accept some think otherwise.

I only care about the Club/team as it plays. The jumper is paramount.... Personnel/players come and go.

Hey, if this is all this thread was, fine. But it’s not. It’s one thing to want Goody gone but it’s an entirely different thing to disparage him, insult him and blame him for every misfortune. it’s unfair and unwarranted.

There’s only one thing about this thread that’s equally as bad and that’s the exasperating repetition. It’s insufferable. Do people really think they’re saying something new?

I'll ask you too

Why are you here if it's not your cup.of tea ?

Dont hang if you don't like the company or comments.

Just go do the other stuff you enjoy. Surely 🤷‍♂️

And for the record sts.... if some want to suggest Goody has $#@!'d up and were here lamenting as a result. Thats an opinion Some might even say it's their considered appraisal and I don't see why that's hard for some to stomach.

Where stuff has gone right we applaud. Where it's gone/going wrong it's fair game to suggest change.

Where are these obvious improvements in our game plan?

"We move the ball realllly fastttttt from backhalf to forward halfffff".

Just turned on my tv and goody is on footy classified with hird, Ed & Tom morris.

Wonder if goody will ask Tom about his lever story.

I really don't want to watch so if anyone has can you do a quick debrief

The tenet of the topic is Time to go Goody with a question mark. To me that is asking a question. You & others think he should & others think he shouldn’t. So we are all answering the question with our opinions. Maybe if you didn’t constantly allude to the fact that anyone positive is either a “Happy Clapper” or a misguide fool we could have had a more balanced discussion.. ?

I don't presume ALL who think Goodwin ought to stay are happy clappers but they are certainly numerous.

Just as you purport we have dismissed the question mark whilst its still really there. That was always the notion ( imo ) I.e.. Should he stay, should he go ?

It all falls as to how anyone quantifies and qualifies their view..

Somewhat classic half glass full or empty or some other fraction.

I just question the glass itself.

Many might still be here next season continuing the discussion. I would think more evidence one way or the other will surface.

I just want us winning. Not fussed who. It's not the norm now and hasn't been for a long while.

I've suggested before the end to this season might offer insights. Beating contemporaries isn't a guide it's how we fare when pushed.... how our game holds up.... or not.

Bullies, Hawks and Filth will be tests..

They'll tell us much.

That's an embarrassing segment by Goodie the 🤡.

Most of the players he mentioned are stalling, struggling, or have gone backwards

Jeffo, Johnson, Henderson, Tholstrup & Windsor.

Just more spin.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
