The Demons return to Melbourne in Round 17 to take on the Eagles on Sunday as they look to bounce back from a devastating and heartbreaking last minute loss to the Lions at the Gabba. Who comes in and who goes out?

Salem and bowey the obvious candidates to come in. Would love for Tholstrup and AMW to retain their spots. Await the vfl game but suspect only Bill and Jefferson the other possible candidates.

AMW did great imo. Also like the tall backline option for WCE with Oscar, Darling and G-Train 2.0.

Jeffo for Petty if his ankle doesn't get up. Salem in, but not totally sure who for

Jefferson has to play. Time to give him a taste of the big time and build for a big year next season.

Tholstrup and AMW must play for the remainder of the season. Both showed plenty tonight and deserve time in the seniors to develop.

Kynan probably deserves a full game but will likely be dropped for either Bowey or Salem pending their respective niggles.

Demonland will be on full Jefferson watch tomorrow.

All eyes on Casey. 3 goals + or 8+ marks and Jefferson surely comes in.

Petty let us down big time in front of goals, and whilst he's finding a small amount of form, he's still not playing well.

No interest in seeing Bowey back without a run at Casey. He has been fumbly, poor and somehow undroppable.

Out: Petty, Tomlinson (unlucky but not sure we need 4 talls for West Coast)

In: Jefferson, Salem if fit or Brown for a full game and McAdam to sub.

Salem will come in probably for Tomlinson although the defence were good tonight,
Brown likely to go back to the VFL

Petty rolled an ankle should get up

Absolutely. 8-7 means we are still in the season. 8 games left and need to win 5 of them.  It's not over.

Surely they can’t drop Moniz or Tholstrup after tonight’s efforts.

Therefore : Salem in for Woewodin.

K. Brown in the 22

Windsor sub

Would really like to see Sestan and Fullarton ( for Chandler and either one of Turner or Petty ) but it looks like their cards have been stamped, at least for this year.

It’s a combination of being 8-7 and how we played tonight.

If this is what we bring for the rest of the year, rather than the football of our previous 6 weeks, then our season is alive. The fixture is challenging but 6 games in Melbourne, 5 at the G, and some 8-point games where wins can help bring challengers for the top 8 down (Essendon, GWS, Port, GC).

The only change I would make to the side is Petty out injured / managed for Fullerton.

We need to first have a look at Fullerton and see what he looks like in the team, we cannot continue to use JVR in the ruck. Starting to really hit his straps up forward and we need to find a way to keep him down there. Like the effort and intensity I saw from the kids need to keep playing them. Kynan needs a proper run, not two cameos. West Coast is as good a team as any to give him that proper opportunity.

Jefferson next cab off the rank.

I’d like to see Pup have a full game tagging Reid. Shoulder to shoulder with him. He has the speed and mongrel to take him out of the game.

Add salo and bowey to that team and it looks a lot stronger.

I can't see amw or kolt getting dropped.

Perhaps woey and pup come out and amw is the sub.

Being realistic we cannot be considered serious contenders this year. (Sydney is and perhaps any one that ends up top four at season end).
Strange game this. I felt gutted by last week’s win, but gained some hope with this week’s loss.
Hoping that we can somehow make the finals. Not caring or thinking about higher draft picks if we finish lower.
Just want to see us play finals. You got to be in it to win it (but refer to my first sentence). It is a long off season. GO DEES!

Sorry, did you not see Reid fending off Petracca and Oliver? Brown has some courage and tackled Larkey but this would be a bloodbath. He's tiny.

Tommo needs to stay in with an Eagles fwd line of Darling, Allen and Waterman. Lever can't play on either of them, more likely to play on Cripps

For mine, an elimination final and a shot as underdogs to get the finals monkey off our back is worth playing for, and a finals win from here is a fantastic result all things considered.

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the

We'll break down the Match SIM against North Melbourne and wrap up the preseason with insights into training and our latest recruits. I apologize for skipping our annual season review show at the end of last season. After a disapponting season filled with off-field antics and a heated trade week, I needed a break. Thankfully, the offseason has recharged me, and I’m back—ready t
