Well I think he would get us something good. I am not saying we as a club should be actively trying to trade him but if I was Geelong or someone like them I would be doing everything possible to talk him out of Melbourne.

My only hesitation with Lever to North would be how threadbare our defensive stocks will be going forward. McDonald likely gone this year, if not next at the latest, and can't see May going beyond 2026.

Petty and Turner would form our two main defensive posts.

That leaves Adams, Cat-B rookie Berry (who hasn't played footy in 8-9years), and perhaps Derkson, all untried at AFL level as our back up and/or 3rd key tall.

What could we realistically ask for him, considering he is a contracted key position player with leadership they're in desperate need for? Any chance for a future 1st? Dreaming probably. But not sure a pick in the mid to late 20s is going to improve our list this year in a weak draft.

North with a coaching role would be wise for both parties, as a player only, that would be unbelievably silly from the Kangas

We are not contending in the next 3-4 years so what does it matter? 2026 will have May around at least.

Perhaps JVR or Jeffo can be repurposed for the back half. Then there is Jed Adam’s that could get some game time.

If we could get Duursma or a first rounder it would be a steal. Alternatively getting a second rounder can help us trade into the first round by working with the northern academy clubs - Gold Coast in particular have 8 and 11. North have 20,21. Packaging our 2nd and North’s 2nd (#20) may help us get pick 11- we would need more picks to go after pick 8 as we fall short in points required for the exchange. Although we could ask North for 21 and 38 (3rd) which would get about 1600 points. This gives GC 3 picks and a total excess of about 200 points. It would be a good deal for all involved.

If we could move Trac to Hawthorn for their current pick 7, we could potentially goto West Coast for a deal on Their pick 1 or a long shot for Harley Reid or otherwise take them both to the draft.

We should package Lever up with Viney and im not joking either they would thrive on that shy te.

We have to start think this way people.

We need new eyes looking at this years trading table can we attract a new list manager and pluck off Lamb he's run his race now.

Who have you been watching for the last 3 years? Post ‘22 Lever has been nothing near his best. Once teams worked out that you just need put a player on him to keep him engaged, his intercept game has been almost non existent. Im doubtful we’d get Duursma, but who knows.

North meed more senior players and leaders not draft picks. We need youth or draft picks. It’s the perfect deal.

They might be stupid and desperate enough to actually give us pick 20 and 38 for Lever and Viney that would be a coup.

Hawks pick 7 for Trac and pay a potion of his salary.

Picks 7, 20, 38 plus our own picks we have 24 and 52 that's a decent hand for JT to work with.

I’d prefer we keep Viney. For all his faults the guy has unquestionable commitment and standards. We need him four our youth brigade.

7 and 8 this year - probably end up in the teens. If Trac stays, then having 8 will still be a positive outcome.

The one thing you notice about geelong or collingwood is they keep afl capable players around and cut from the fringes. we shed in the 15-25 zone and then dont have capable players coming in. Harmes, Jordon, Bedford, Nibbler even Hunt were all capable players. they make decisions on rookies after 1-2 years and they've never been burnt by this

Now we have 3-4 year players with zero afl experience which typically means they haven't been good enough to warrant a game. Howes just signed up to finish his 6th season!!! Has anyone seen anything in his 20 afl games to justify a 6 year career.

we're afraid to make change and cut our losses. We should be making 12-14 list changes this year (AFL avg is 8 + we need to shed 2 extras for the LTI replacements we had)

Would love to get Rosas, I’m surprised that he’s failed to stay in Hardwicks team tbh. From what I’ve seen he’s shown qualities of a solid afl contributor - unless someone can tell me otherwise.

it’s also a shame we missed out on Ryan Angwin from the Giants last year, he looked really good on the weekend and in the last few weeks. Perhaps one to look out for in the future

Coleman would be a pipe dream is only in VFL as he recovers from injury. I suggest he will be in side before season finsihes.
Rosas should be on our radar. Speed, pressure, wins inside ball and kicks goals. Change will be good.
Whilst we are at Suns we should target Alex Davies if we move on Oliver. Showed on weekend that he has inside bull winning abilities and also has class (30 possessions at 83% efficiency and 10 tackles).

I would also look to target Max Hall from StKilda who is out of contract and may be able to be stolen with a better contract. Hard and clean and has really elevated his game recently with midfield minutes.

I hope/assume we have some bigger plays up our sleeves but I suggest realistically they will be hard for us to get ahead of others.

Just like clubs picked off some of our extended list in our stronger period there is nothing wrong with doing the same to others and doesnt mean they dont add value to your best 23. Look at Jordon, Bedford, Harmes and Wagner as current examples.

Scratch Max Hall, being reported about to sign a multi year deal to stay with Saints.

We need leadership around the place. For that reason viney and lever stay for mine.

100% yes to trading lever, KPD are high value on the market. Barass was worth a future 1st, 2nd, 3rd.

I believe we can extract a future 1st and 2nd for Lever. Even if it means a pick swap on return.

I know May is getting on but he’s quite versatile over his career, hopefully he can play for another two seasons. I’ve wanted to give Turner more time fwd but if he is to stay in defence we are quite strong there and are set for a while with Turner turning 25 next year & Petty 26. May on the other hand is 34 next year.
