When did Adelaide make an offer for McVee?

And if the good mail on here is to be believed (and I believe it), why did they bother?

It was reported on Gettable that Adelaide had some preliminary interest in McVee (they didn't state any offer had been made - at least from what they said last week). It was spoken in the context of NWM re-signing with StK and suggested that this may mean they have their interest reignited in McVee, should they turn their attention back to him.

Bingo.

If the Hawks and Petracca want each other, would we consider a Lewis and McKenzie package with a couple of picks getting thrown around?

I don’t really know what else they could realistically offer us. Lewis isn’t a walk up start for them anymore yet he probably would be for us, McKenzie seems to have a fair bit of potential. I’m curious as to what Petraccas perceived value is in the industry now after a somewhat down year

I like this

Thank God SOS isn't our list manager!!

Ok what about Cripps or Walsh or Merret? They are in a similar position to Trac are they not? Both on big money, could pursue success elsewhere etc.

I don’t get why there is this particular fixation on Trac but not others.

Now I’d like to get rid of him as well - he is on top dollar and can’t kick to save his life. If we can get Hawks (Blues) first round this year, I’d do it in a heartbeat. Some good tall defenders in the top 10.

They demand a superstar be traded, but Carlton/Essendon higher up the club hierarchy then us, so Trac it is.

I have heard that Adelaide are definitely into McVee and are our biggest competition. Based on the fact he hasn’t signed and Adelaide are still playing is a concern.

Crazy Rossy and Crazy Sossy. Only gonna end in disaster .

Lewis can barely get through a five game stretch without breaking down with injury and McKenzie can’t make it out of the vfl

Fair enough. MacKenzie (apparent correct spelling of the lads name) is still only 21 tho so wouldn’t be shooting him down too quick. Who would be your target if the dorks come for trac?

Both their first round pix

Hawks would value Mackenzie (no good) & Lewis (durability issues) too highly in a trade imo

the baggers' first round pick in 2025, dingley's 2026 and 2027 first rounders, AND a player, probably mitch lewis or mackenzie

Will this be another trade period watching other teams making big trades??? We never seem to be linked to any big name

As much as I’d love that, I feel they’d nearly laugh us out of the room if they were our demands

well then they don't get the mid / fwd that they seem to crave

let's see how desperate they get if they can't land a premiership this september

Jacob Koschitzke delisted by Richmond at age 25. For some reason they were playing him in defence in VFL. We were keen on him a few years back as a key forward. Could be an option as delisted free agent on low salary as depth.

Pass - he couldn't crack a Richmond side this year that was at times crying out for another tall at either end.

Richmond supporters are very happy to tell you how poorly they rated this guy.

His form for the Hawks showed he had potential as a forward, but I'd pass. Anyone who's just been delisted by a bottom four side should be approached with extreme caution.

There's usually a reason why these guys don't get games.

Culley is looking like the exception to that rule thankfully .

Mitch Lewis squeezed out of the 23 for Hawthorn's first final. Injury prone sure, would be a walk up start for us fit though. At 26 could he get the body right for a late career bloom

We can’t afford anything. We need to get rid of big names, not attract them.

I disagree. Never met a Sri Lankan I didn’t like.

He took Keane completely out of the game, a very selfless role

  • CASEY: Richmond

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demons’ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.

  • REPORT: Richmond

It seemed as if the whole purpose of the Anzac Eve clash at the MCG between the Demons and the Tigers was building toward that single, unforgettable moment when Kozzie Pickett soared above Campbell Gray and all but fittingly etched his name onto the face of the 2026 Frank ‘Checker’ Hughes Medal.
