Does anyone else want a 100 point loss so something can change?

Doesn’t matter how big the margin is, the change won’t come

UOf course amiss doesn't miss against us. This is going to be a percentage killer, a top 4 killer & maybe a top8 killer

At this point I am seriously considering missing top 8 may be the best for this team.

New ideas are needed to keep pushing the side forward.  Yze bought in new ideas that had impact and success.  His replacement doesn't seem to had the same impact.  We need to go and find a high quality senior assistant to chalkenge replace Goodwin and push the team.

Getting smashed and people are blaming the umpires? Come on.
First to the ball = first to the free.

No one is blaming the umpires for us getting done. That's on you.

But are we not allowed to comment on the standard of umpiring?

It's the game day thread, FCS

Not thinking I'll need to WANT it.....

Not something I didn’t consider.. but prob don’t need 100pt to ruin confidence entirely but hey — modern footy is week-by-week proposition that’s for dang sure

when was the last time we had 100 kicked on us by 3/4 time?

Neeld years at a guess

Whilst not blaming this pathetic performance on the Umpires, aren’t people allowed to comment on poor decisions ?

While simultaneously kicking one goal a quarter.

Glad I turned it off

Is Simon still there ?  ..  asking for a friend

Any chance we could turn up to a game with the mindset of putting immense pressure on the opponent?

Frees 4 - 12 not one HTB

I wouldn’t be looking to the free kick count as a reason for the scoreline… we are playing rubbish footy, the likes of which I haven’t seen since the Mark Neeld days.

Can we still sack him despite having extended his contract last year?

Definitely pre Paul Roos era, so 2013.

Are our players just content to be on an AFL list?

Said it before and will say it again, we arent that good.

We arent a big club.

And this sort of stuff affects membership too.

What a shame.

Freo player drops ball instead of returning to Windsor who won the free. No fifty called. More [censored] umpiring

The funny thing is, it’s change we’re trying — we could go back to 22-23 Brand in no time but WHY? Do what you’ve always done and you’ll get same result..

how can no one else see this IS trying to change????? Goodness me.. I’d rather we don’t change and just kicked straighter (ly) but I also see we can’t keep getting to finals, dominating i50 and LOSING!!! We lost 4/4 finals — We have to try and transition our game and we will, it’s a bump in the road, just hope for no injuries & put it behind us!

Like what?

This team is done and dusted.

Mentally lazy.

It reeks of .." but we have won a flag."

Us supporters deserve better than this.

Shame on these players.

Shame on the coaches.

I feel sorry for those fans that spent their hard earned going to NT for this game.

And why exactly are we playing in Nt to start with?

Like we haven't travelled enough this year.

Max and May 33 next year. 'Dynasty' is officially over.

We are still on time to try and do a mini rebuild. Starting with the coaching staff.

I think some peeps have been a bit spoiled.. I wish I could make it so that when you jump-off this quickly you can’t enjoy the high-rides but I know where you’re coming from and would’ve once felt similar but this is a perfect day for a team that’s choc-full of confidence and we’re barely there! Maybe this is a butt-smashing we need?

No reason it can’t be.. I choose to keep faith, everything’s going right for them and it’s evident they’re chasing in. I can’t smash a team that’s given me so much resounding reasons to trust them.. I mean look at that Serong Goal for goodness sake off back if DARCY lucky goal and Frederick boundary goal, that’s just bananas & good on em!

We’ll bounce back next week.. you don’t lose ability overnight for goodness sake!

Harden up ppl, it’s a crappy day — move fwd.

I suppose for some it's the same it's as being a Trump supporter stuck in a bubble.

the fact our second best defender is probably also our best forward genuinely makes me laugh.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
