We are not good enough this season I fear.

I am starting to fear the same thing. Our worst is as bad as any, and our stock standard footy appears below Sydney etc... Our best is still as good as any but we are lucky to produce it for half a game. And our field kicking remains our Achilles heel.

Nice if Fritsch to take the week off again.

He’s a deeply unserious footballer at the moment

Aren’t we meant to be winning this game easily?

Again we aren’t as good what many believe we are.

Mid table team.

how do you stop a sling tackle? Blow the f%%%%ing whistle early.AFL has no idea how to adjudicate to stop injuries.

Yes we [censored] the bed, but stuff the umpires too

It ain’t the umpires

The non free kick against Reid for holding the ball really annoyed me. Thats holding the ball against 99% of players.

You can’t adjudicate the rules differently because you want him to keep taking the game again. Thats not how it works.

It is how it works though

and club presidents stand by, mute

At the moment everyone is being found out

Except Petracca. Goes to the middle and wins some key clearances, goes forward and kicks goals.

On both sides there were numerous tackles that should easily have been htb.

It's been poorly umpired all season

our midfield is one- / no-paced and the way they move away from stoppages with ease is a bit of a worry

Been well held again.

I expect a few from him soon though.

Tends to impact games in busts.

At least I hope so.

Careful on here..

You can't ever question Fritsch on this forum.

Absolute liability today.

Geez, imagine if JT and the club were able to get Harley. The kids is a star

It's actually fun watching Harley Reid bully our mids.

Kid is a genuine star.

Centre clearances nine to five against us

No wonder.

I’ll keep questioning him and 1000 of his cheersquad will tell me I’m wrong. Vest next week please. He could be handy in a last quarter

And we are now not focusing on contest which was our jam.

Any chance Goodwin tags Reid , our field kicking is poor, our contested ball getting smashed

Gawn, Tracc, Oliver and Viney are all poor kicks.

Who are our elite kicks in the midfield???

Fritsch is our real barometer, he plays well when the team does and does SFA when we struggle.

Hes way too flaky after being in the system for years. Then again, you could say that about our entire team atm.

Don't be silly. Goodwin is anti tag.

Look at James Jordon now. Currently one of the best taggers in the AFL purely because horse Longmire actually finds different elements from a player that he knows will benefit the team.

Goody is one dimensional with the way he uses our players.

Will Schofield hates Melbourne. He was the one who got reported for hitting Clarrie and then Damien Martin called Oliver a stager on Twitter.

Turn the volume down. He’s not going to do anything but barrack against us.

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
