Do you know why Temu is so cheap? They actually make their money by selling your personal details on to third-parties (including criminal networks).

Just look at clubs NSW with the latest data breach. " Oh just go and replace your ID documents such as driver licences".

Mmm, not so easy.

What more can a coach do if his medical staff have cleared a guy to play and he's ticked all boxes?

Sometimes the only thing a recovered hamstring injury is susceptible to is another hamstring injury.

Yes that is true. Our defence is all time legendary.

God help us when our backline eventually breaks from being relied upon for the millionth time.

#classic Demonland.

Defence works 999,999 times.

It's doesn't work on the millionth occasion and it's all doom and gloom

Careful @Demonland. It’s not as if we’ve got the best finals form line recently, either.

They all do it.

It's also not a one-way street. I've noticed in the past that the MFC is one organisation to have acquired my data from a third party.

BT just described about JHF when he had the ball, actually said the horney one. What the hell

One stage I heard him saying something along the lines of "been lots of dirty balls tonight" referencing Port's inside 50 entries.

Yes, Port are a dirty team but BT... too far man.

If anything happens in footy this week more stupid than playing someone a single WEEK after a hamstring tear, it’ll have to be REALLY stupid.

And that wasn't even the stupidest thing.

Rozee slightly hyper extended his leg, in much the same way as he did to hurt it the previous week (a weird action I've not seen before in terms of a hammy injury - is that a common way to hurt a hammy @Webber?)

Was clearly limping. Went to the bench for 9 minutes or some such.

AND CAME BACK ON, before getting subbed off a short time after.

Hinkley said he erred selecting him, but was adamant there was no risk of further damage by putting him back out on the field.

He may well be right, but if you think it was a unnecessary risk picking him, why double down and risk putting him back on?

Variations thereof, yes. Hamstring tears occur substantially at full pace acceleration on the leading leg. Just after the foot secures in the turf, the hamstring load goes from 0 to 100 in order to pull the body through. That’s when they happen - maximal tension at full length. The idea of not making it worse by sending him back on is wishful thinking at best, delusion at worst. Staggering stuff. I don’t get it.

Rozee should not have been playing and should not have come on for a second time either. The insanity is partially explained by the fact that Port hate, hate the Crows. Its not some puffed up faux rivalry, they really can't stand each other (I have a work colleague who supports the Crows and another who follows Port).

Kenny is getting pretty desperate I think. They extended his contract but if they continue to falter and lose the same way as they have done for a little while now I think they'll move him on, with the succession plan already in motion. Cornes this morning suggesting the loss felt a lot bigger for Port than just a 'regular' loss and that maybe it sums up a lot about Hinkley and what he's done over the years. He's been there a long time now and they still appear a bit flakey to me.

15m in Melbourne must be about 30m in Adelaide as both JHF and Rankine have run a mile without bouncing.

Another nnon-universal rule of the AFL.

I am mystified by how far players can run when kicking-in after a behind.  I'd assume they can't run more than 15m from the end of the goal square. Yet they often run much much further than that and it would be easy for the umps to judge given they have a 9m ruler nearby.  Am I missing a rule?

Thank goodness I'm working tonight so I don't have to see a second of the game. Although it will be a massive crowd and an interesting game

As horrible as both of these teams are, I am looking forward to watching this game.

Hoping for a very fair, close and clean game.

And may they smash each other into next year!

Why do they all have stupid 'leave it to beaver' haircuts? (no offense Deeves).  Especially the filth

Ugh it had to be that filthy POS who kicked the first goal, didn’t it. 🤮

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.

  • PODCAST: Gold Coast

I’ll be away for the next few weeks, so Binman will be holding the fort for our podcasts covering the Suns, Bombers and Lions matches. As a result, there will be no live podcasts during this period, and we won’t be taking calls or voicemails. Binman will still be dipping into this thread to select a few questions to answer, while also combining the long-form Stats Files podcast with the Demonland Podcast for these shows. Your questions and comments are a huge part of what makes the podcast work, so please post anything you’d like to ask or say below and we’ll do our best to give you a shout-out on the show. Please try to keep each post focused on one specific topic or player to make podcast preparation a little easier. If you have multiple topics you’d like to raise, please put them in separate posts.
