The intel I have is that Clarry won't be risked next week!

Hope you are correct.

Not taking things for granted but with Richmond’s injuries, even with having Oliver and Salem out I am not just expecting us to win but am hoping to see a ‘statement game’ and getting a percentage boost.

Following week is the big game against the cats.  Carlscum five days later unfortunately is a bit problematic. Want three wins, will settle for two, nothing less.

We should do this with Clarry against the Tiges for sure with cats coming up the week after.  We play Kangas once and Eagles twice. Will be interesting to see our approach to players needing to be nursed.

100%

Regardless of what player says, for his own good (and the Club's) he should not be risked against the Tigers.

There's literally no upside to do so but plenty if we don't.

He might also need to be held back against the Cats.  Whatever it takes,  need to get his hand 95%-100% right and coming back in ripping nick.

All I can do is tell you exactly what the actual player said when I asked him if he was playing against Richmond. He then again stated it to the assembled group at a function.

He may well have. These guys don’t let much out and if it’s in DL then everyone knows. So I. Hand he does play and in the other he doesn’t… Perfect headache for Yze and the Tigers

Just realised I am a year behind @Demonland

Put 2023, instead of 2024 in the title.

It seems that @Demonland has been lurking around in his DMC DeLorean again. I have elicited a promise from him that he won’t get ahead of himself or go back in time for now. We’re back to taking things one week at a time.

Based on my very extensive experience kev, confusing dates is a sure sign of being a [censored] pot!

Saw the DeLorean beam in and out of Code footy on their Facebook post.

 @Demonland is entertaining himself again.

Can we trust him to take it a week at a time  @Whispering_Jack?

I didn't even know I became the ride along, @Bitter but optimistic could be right.

Many thanks as always @kev martin.
Two questions please?  Did you sight ‘Disco’, and if so, was he back or forward?  Thanks.

Yes looking good, bonding well with the team. Showing some confidence and moving well. Turner had the bib on a few times during sims, and because it was 9 v 18 he was mainly chasing and having to play a defensive role, though more up the field around the wings, than deep in the backline.

Had a feeling he is not the next for a call up. I think they are looking closely at Fullarton.

It's pretty normal from my experience.

The difficult part is getting back to full pace.

I did my hammy when I was 14.

Still waiting to get back to full pace.

Sensible decision - he can be relied upon to get himself 'match fit', working through injuries and related negativities to his form. On several occasions, I have seen him training (and he has done so at far greater effort, concentration and work rate than any other team member), so we should have confidence in his training philosophy and method(s). It is also time for Trac to slow down his external commitments and appearances; from his recent Adelaide adventures, he must have been 'almost' exhausted, as suspected during the Brizzy game, giving public addresses and forums, cooking demonstrations, travel to and from locations, preparations for the public domain whilst still meeting Club/Team commitments and preparations.

Huh?

Are you saying Trac should not do a cooking demonstration or talk in public because he's too exhausted?

Comedy gold!

If Jim Stynes can play with 2 broken legs and a fractured arm Oliver should be able to play, if not he's a sook and should swallow some concrete and harden the .... up

Love you history mention on the great Jimmy.

Oliver's one wood is his lighting hands plus others so if clean handling is slightly off so is clarry.

He must be 100% to go for his own sake I reckon

Not exactly, but it was a busy week outside, yet amid, a short schedule of three critical games - match preparations included - and as we all know, candles burning at both ends expire relatively quickly.

Players have got to have their lives too. I doubt a cooking demo does anything but make him happy.

Fairy Nuff.

Additional: I cannot remember seeing Kossie at the training.

I've been known for not observing some when they were out there.

Did anyone see any club photo's or media look ins?

If I am right, my guess would be some extended leave, possibly at home.

(Nothing like some unsubstantiated rumours.)

That's just the sort of quote where we lose....percentage booster..

Agree. Clarry has been well below his influential best recently (obviously hampered by his injury).

Dont bring him back until his hand is fully recovered

I love sarcasm even though it's the lowest form of humour.

I'll keep an eye out for it in future.

Salem being able to run just over a week after doing a hamstring is a good sign.

So did Clarry, then missed most of the season

I wouldn’t say it’s the lowest.

Not sure where to post this but next Saturday the 27th April we have Oakleigh Chargers Vs GC Academy.

We have Noah Yze and Kalani White on show.

No doubt we will have recruiting staff present.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
