Man of steel.  As Adzman said above, pound for pound he'd have to be up there with the toughest in the league over many seasons now.

When you get up close he's not a big fella by any means but the bod is all muscle and ripped.  The amount of work required to upkeep that... wow!

I'm sure he was duly lead by the Jones boy (among others) who laid down the foundations of what's required to play at the highest level... and consistently at that.

He constantly lets his footy do the talking.  A great leader by example.

I see traits of Viney coming through in the likes of Sparrow at times (when playing through the middle).

Hats off to you Vins.  I salute you...one of the all time greats of the mighty Demons 👏🏼💪🏼🍻

Does anyone know what level Jack is at. I know he doesn't say anything about it. But i would expect he would be close to a Black Belt, but it could be more including being more than a Dan.

Can someone more tech savvy than me please post the awesome Jack moment from round 18 last year (that insane match vs the Lions at the ‘G) where Jack wrenches the ball from McInerney’s hands and goals narrowing the margin to five points. The match that many Dees fans left before it ended coz… who’da thunk???!!!😅

Please and thanks!

Viney is a genuine tough footballer.

He is no sniper, nor is he a choose your moment hard man. He plays the same way all game, every game - see ball , get ball regardless of who is in the way.

He provides team lifting , match winning moments by example.

Every team needs a Jack Viney. Thankfully he is a red and blue blood.

Up there with the toughest Demons I have seen in 50 years. In fact I can't think of one tougher.

Thanks for your efforts Jack. You have almost single handedly dragged this club back from its darkest days to the powerhouse it is today.

My two favourite Viney moments - one is that tremendous goal after wrenching the ball off McInerny. But the other, which I only heard about, was from before he played AFL. He was playing under age in the VFL and, as we know, there are often some pretty seasoned older players in that comp. One of them - I think from Geelong- hit Jack, then aged 16 or 17, and broke his jaw. Was Jack intimidated? - no, he wanted to go on with it!!

His father was a great player. Jack is better.

I hope he has lots of kids!!

Todd was awesome. A Silver to Gold Version of Tom Sparrow. Kicking was always a worry.Jay was tougher than tough, Not sure why he left? Maybe too slow.

Robbie Flower met Todd at the Airport in 1986 wearing a full Safari Suit, as an ice breaker , and took him to Robbies joint for the day and night. Todd was A demon from then on and helped Robbie play in his first finals and the clubs first in 23 years.

Todd rebuilt us culturally before 21. Tod hated Neeld.

Premium Family royalty for the Dees. BArassi, Cordner and Vineys. Hard to split.

Some photos just sum things up so well.

This is Jack Viney. Wouldn't have been a sniper hit, just HARD.

One of my all time favourite footy photos

One man has made a career of being a tough as nails competitor, the other has made a career of ducking his head. Just ask him.

Love that Jack has always been such a a clean skin. Never had any off field controversies, never needed some idiotic bogan haircut or a swathe of tough stickers either.

The point of this vid from Saturday is how Maysie got tangled up in banner tape. 😅But, just as Jack was about to run through the banner I yelled out, “Go Jack!” and he waved to me. A small thing, yes. But a big thing considering we all yell out to them and because they’re all pumped and focussed and raring to go they rarely acknowledge it. Jack is one of those players who never stops appreciating us, even in his 199th game. ❤️💙

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
