Bombers putting up a decent fight tonight but Swans will run it out in the last.

Ben McKay is possibly the most overpaid footballer in AFL history. VFL standard yet on over 700k a year!

Grundy played his best game in round zero. Not so much from him tonight so far.

Ben Mackay is awful

Not sure he is even that good.

Ben McKay, just wow.  Can't believe the roos got away with pick 3 for him. Highway robbery.

Will laugh if the roos overtake essendon at the end of the year.

Solid win by Sydney. Apart frrom Wright I wonder if they will look at Heeney for his "slap" on Hinds. Probably not as he is one of the protected ones.

Definitely not. They have some young A listers and a good coach.

I can't get a handle on Freo. In 2022 it looked like they were on the way to battling for a top 4 spot in 2023 but it's been all downhill

Freo's list does not have near enough quality or depth.

They used a lot capital on Jackson.

Jackson will be a good investment long-term, he's a gun - and should really be pushing for AA this year given his age and development.

But they had a gun ruck and in the now, needed some class mids and quality key defenders more than a ruck forward who isn't a natural forward, or a one grabber for that matter.

Dons are a dirty side too.

Hawks.

Pies.

Always were always will be.

Not sure about Fremantle's depth.

Yesterday was only North but they were missing Chapman, Cox, Darcy, O'Driscoll and O'Meara, plus OMac and Worner who played last week, plus a few others (e.g. Corey Wagner and Ethan Stanley).

Perhaps against a better side they wouldn't have won but they're 2-0 with quite a lot of talent to come back.

And I wholly disagree that they "need" key defenders. Their best 22 defence is top 4 quality.

Oskar! What an incredible passage of play😅

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.
