NON-MFC: Round 01

Recommended Posts

Why are Blues players allowed to determine where the mark is and almost always run over the actual mark without ever being called back?

There’s another team who have figured out how to win tight matches.

Yep.

Get the umpires to give you everything, have your opponent down 3 players for most of the game, off a 5 day break and  have an opposition player play on from a set shot 2 metres out and miss.

That’s the way to win.

Richmond and Yze deserve massive credit for that performance. They almost won it.

Richmond are going down and this is Carlton’s first realistic chance of being expected to get to a GF.

My hat is off to Yze.

Carlton did everything they could to lose that one, the umps sure helped them out in the last, though the Tigers got the rub of the green early in the game.

Carlton’s defence looks very suspect, but god Curnow and McKay really show the value of having 2 quality KPF’s. We don’t even have 1.

Gee poor yze. Was I said last week welcome to coaching.

I just caught the last quarter. Bolton in the final seconds I thought was going to get through but he forgot to take the ball.

And where was Dusty in the last 10 minutes? The Tiges had a fair share of it in their half forward but Dusty, no where to be seen when he would normally turn a tight game on its head.

My husband barracks for Carlton and over the decades of our marriage I have really tried hard to like them.
Unfortunately, I have failed at this miserably.

Well done Ooze, that’s some ticker shown by the Tigers.

If i was a tigers supporter i would be incredibly proud of the troops, down 3 rotations also off a 5 day break.

Did a Richmond player in the 3rd quarter miss from 2 metres out?

If it wasn’t 2 metres out it was all of 3 out but it was a shocker of a miss all the same. Would’ve given them a handy 13 point lead.

Surprised Carlton didn’t pile on the goals in the last quarter given the opposition were down 3 players.

Mansell, played on from a mark 2 metres out and missed.

Moronic bit of play.

You're kidding right.

You don't regard JVR as a quality KPF?

Give me a spell.

7 hours ago, whatwhat say what said:

i wish people would make a distinction between 'key' and 'tall'

fritsch is one of the best 'key' forwards in the competition

Key position forward (KPF) is, as i understand it, is the centre half forward and full forward, positions that are usually filled by talls.

But I agree on what I assume is your point- fritter, who is arguably our full forward and could be considered a KPF, is very much a quality forward.

So, far from not having any quality KPFs, we have two.

Only thing missing last night was Rey Mysterio giving Tom Lynch a 619. Season script has been written. Blues in the GF.

GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs West Coast

It’s game day and the Demons return to Melbourne to play the Eagles at the MCG for the first time in over a decade. A win keeps the Dees finals hopes alive whereas a loss will almost certainly slam the finals window shut.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well
