I can’t even look at that brekkie pic now. I actually had a Berocca chaser, then another coffee at the airport. Had to hold the spew-bag for the entire flight, much to the concern of the poor soul sitting next to me. The attendants asked folks to let me off the plane first. I thought they were just being nice but they clearly didn’t embrace the thought of cleaning up some eejit’s vomit. The fumes on the tarmac exacerbated the situation. I barely made it to the ladies room, where there was a queue so I had to choose: floor or sink. Poor old sink got the gig.

For future game-days I shall never again stray from my usual game-day fare of three ️s and four 🚬s and one Red Bull. 👍🏽

I have heard of players having pregame nerves (plugger of all people had a trainer in the race with a rubbish bin) but this has taken it to a new level.  Get well.

Sydney are extremely inexperienced on the inside.... so Oliver and Viney will dominate.

I had this same problem. Found a scarf still vacuum sealed and opened it to find the 2022 scarf. Eventually found an unwrapped 2024 edition.

I used to get a scarf every season with my membership, but don't think it's happened since Covid?  Have they changed something, or is there a bunch of scarves somewhere in a cupboard in Jolimont with my name on them?

Sounds like she’s got my daughters condition. She’s probably pregnant.

Scarfs are still sent out, used to be able to pick them up at the game.

In the app or website of the MFC, there is a page that you indicate if you want a voucher or the scarf and the plastic members card. I also think an email was sent giving a link to the opt in/out  alternatives.

The links send you to the ticket masters site. I have attached a screen shot from the email. I cannot send links as they only work after I have signed in to my account.

We SHOULD win clearance by a mile.

They have a good ruckman and JJ is no mug. I think the whole game will be really even, we have strengths where they don’t and vice versa. Can see it being decided by a kick… late.

Will be a good game against a tough team.

Go Dees, hit them early and frequently.

Warner and Heeney/Papley will get runs through there to give them options

It's bad enough the media is out to get us without statisticians and mathematicians jumping on board the anti dees train!

Even @WheeloRatings is agin us, predicting a 7.9 point loss:

https://www.wheeloratings.com/afl_match_previews.html

Home ground is the only significant factor they have to model. Unless they are mathing media BS, no exposed form orherwise.

Sydney are always hard to beat. They're a proud team who always have a dip.

There are strengths and weaknesses on both sides. We are fielding a significantly less experiences side - but still with enough star power to keep them at bay. We're going to miss Kozzie and Petty (and obviously Gus), but I think Salo gives us ongoing coverage there, and we have enough zip in the team to snag goals - looking for a big opening game from Windsor, a big contribution from Fritter, JVR who looks ready to consolidate a solid 2023, Trac for a goal or two, Tommy, and even Scach. If we can get 10+ goals from that group - the rest can pitch in 4-5 and our defence will do the rest.

Pound for pound we should do just fine tonight, despite the venue. Our midfield should dominate clearances, but we have been dudded by that before in many games last year, inexplicably. But I reckon Clarry will have a blinder.

A great opening statement awaits!! We win by 25

GO DEES!

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Essendon

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
