Can anyone explain the lining up of that kick after the siren - it was for OOB on the full but the man on the mark was brought in 10-15 meters.

Outside 5 cos didn’t stand mark immediately

Viney = immense

Picking up from where he left off last year

But then was moved to 10 metres not 5, these clown umpires.

I reckon we will run this game out but I’m really hoping to see a lift from guys like JVR and Sparrow. If they get involved and kick a few, we’ll be ok. We will need the lift.

He chose the outside 5 option.  The best option for any kick from the boundary when its OOTF.

But was then ordered to stand 10 meters away instead of 5.... go figure.

Umps making the rules up on the run.  And as per usual its mostly us getting the rough end of the pineapple.

Harrison Petty please, please, please get well soon!!!

Looks like JVR needs him to avoid mismatches.

a better quarter, but then that was not a particulary high mark to reach with only 1 goal in each of the first 2 quarters. really need to improve our disposal of the ball still pretty poor, lots of turn overs and kicking to the opposition. Gawny needs to change up his routine getting beaten too easily

My app says it still feels like 26 degrees up there. Will takes it toll. Hopefully we aren’t a player down with Bowey. But this is where we’ll see if selwyn is worth his paycheck. Hopefully our more seasoned players will start to roll over the top. Carn Dees 🔴🔵

shocking I50 Clarry. had plenty of time to set himslef

Petty will make everyone better. Who goes to Petty JVR and Fritsch. Then add Kozzie and we have some very exciting forward half players.

Schache, sorry to say; no chase.

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

    Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

    Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
