For all the doom and gloom, we are still in this. Massive rocket needed at half time.

Howes, May, Lever and Tomo doing ok

All that effort

1.8 at half time

whens the draft?

Sparrow lacks consistency.

Goodwin is the opposite. He needs to make some changes. Jvr up the ground. Tracca up fwd  Laurie subbed off fgs. #Wake up Goody.

Back line holding up well for sure. Let down by poor skills/disposal further up the ground.

100%. It’s criminal that they’re not all on their bikes anytime the ball comes past half way

I have posts from 2022 and 2023 pointing this out multiple times. Yes there’s ignored leads but Jesus, Goodwin has had years to figure this out and thus far, opening rd 2024, here we are again!!! How??????

My kingdom for a genuine CHF...

Laurie is soft af. No appetite for the contest.

Where are the deft knock-ons and measured kicks into the 50 we saw plenty of vs Carlton when there was nothing on the line? I think the players freak out under pressure and revert to garbage habits. Strange for a premiership winning team but I guess that's where we're at. Ultimately these bad habits are the fault of the coaches though I suppose.

When Joeboy does his review, he’s got 66 or 69 words available to him. I’m willing to grant him the use of the word “lazy” about 30 times, in whatever mix he chooses. Max of 3 lazy’s for any one player.

Windsor is a player. Great vision there

Nice Caleb

Despite a spirited third quarter surge, the Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, remaining winless and second last on the ladder after a 39-point defeat to Essendon at Adelaide Oval in Gather Round.

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round. In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

As the focus of the AFL moves exclusively to South Australia for Gather Round, the question is raised as to what are we going to get from the  Melbourne Football Club this weekend? Will it be a repeat of the slop fest of the last three weeks that have seen the team score a measly 174 points and concede 310 or will a return to the City of Churches and the scene where they performed at their best in 2024 act as a wakeup call and bring them out of their early season reverie?  Or will the sleepy Dees treat their fans to a reenactment of their lazy effort from the first Gather Round of two years ago when they allowed the Bombers to trample all over them on a soggy and wet Adelaide Oval? The two examples from above tell us how fickle form can be in football. Last year, a committed group of players turned up in Adelaide with a businesslike mindset. They had a plan, went in confidently and hard for the football and kicked winning scores against both home teams in a difficult environment for visitors. And they repeated that sort of effort later in the season when they played Essendon at the MCG.
