Don't panic, this is here to serve as a distraction to all the other bs going on. Great first year by our young winger.

Skills of Robbie quite possibly, but does he have the same red and blue heart?

I guess we will see.

that goal against the pear was a stunner

i fully expect he'll be able to rotate thru centre square attendances as he gets stronger - he appears to be an excellent reader of the play and instinctively knows where to move in contested situations to win the loose ball

that burst speed around stoppages is very reminiscent of judd in his meth coke days

He had a good debut season and looks to have genuine potential. He will have some ups and downs in his second season. Don't be too harsh on him when he has a few down games in 2025, its all part of the learning process.

And what sort of downs are you predicting ? Only a 15 a game possession count and no goal? Hope the down/s you predict are not an injury!

On the contrary I would like to see him moved to be our centre man in 2025. Imagine how dangerous he would be running straight down the ground He would have the whole forward line to decide who to pass to or kick a goal himself.

Reckon he would be a 20/25 possession winner and also perhaps around 15/20 goals for the season.

Would straighten us up no doubt. He is a no fuss player and I believe he could handle this move of his development even at such an early stage of his career.

Nor sure who could play on the wing opposite Lingers. Bowey AMW Salem ? Leave it up to the two new Coaches and Goody.

is it just me, or is there a lot of physical and style similarities between Caleb Windsor and Robbie Flower?  running style, kicking style ...

We seem to have given away a lot of draft options to help GCS get their full share of Academy players, I feel we got slim pickings in return.!!

History has proven this to be totally correct.

Just the normal ups and downs any young, inexperienced footballer has. Takes time and some experience to build consistency.

Absolute 'GULP', what a great highlights reel. He looked happy at the Dees, too. He has an enormous role to play in the future. Pace, silky skills, confidence, quick thoughts (and good ones), with just enough mongrel to take phenomenal intercepts and embarrass big name opponents.

Great recognition last night as well he spoke well and looked very comfortable sitting and chatting with Ed Langdon and the Co-Host. We have another beauty here in Caleb.

Yes I think there is a resemblance of some sort. It is hard to exactly pinpoint but both look effortless and move atop of the ground and have similar kicking skills on both sides of their feet.

I think he is a little further ahead in his first year than your Bluebagger flushed eyes have judged. Consistency is one if his form lines already.

You may be surprised but I hope he moves into the centre position this year to maximise his skills and elite disposal plus his potential to kick vital goals in general play.

Surely there is a need to go through each trade swap to see if this sweeping statement is true.
Anyone have the info to test this comment? The mere fact that our swaps have also enabled us to improve  our draft picks positions while they picked up their GC Academy boys does not necessarily mean a loss vs them in value.

He had a few average outings later in the season (no criticisms, to be expected for a youngster). It is not uncommon for 2nd year players to dip a bit as well mind you (before iproving again). We will see next season.

No, someone has to buy a Demons membership after the great microwave membership massacre of October 2024 😁

There’s enough of us without some snivelling Blues fan hovering around in our neck of the woods.

@No. 31 is often a sensible and interesting poster, and more emotionally balanced than some supporters!

Thank you DeelightfulPlay, I hope that I am a sensible counterpoint here at times ...

#flaggers2025, #crippa-for-brownlow3, #baggers-threepeat, #CP5inNavyBlue 😁

You might be welcome if you ceased talking about Carlton.  This is a Melbourne forum.  Stop trolling or FRO.

I don't really get why a Carlton supporter would choose to spend their days hanging around a Melbourne forum. Very odd behaviour tbh.

What was wrong with what @No. 31said?

Solid first year, the odd down game here and there which was to be expected but tracking in the right direction.

If any of us said it no-one would have said boo.

  • PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

With both sides precariously positioned ahead of the run home to the finals, only one team involved in Sunday’s clash at the Adelaide Oval between the Power and the Demons will remain a contender when it’s over.  On current form, that one team has to be Melbourne which narrowly missed out on defeating the competition’s power house Collingwood on King's Birthday and also recently overpowered both 2024 Grand Finalists. Conversely, Port Adelaide snapped out of a four-game losing streak with a win against the Giants in Canberra. Although they will be rejuvenated following that victory, their performances during that run of losses were sub par and resulted in some embarrassing blow out defeats.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

The media focus on the fiery interaction between Max Gawn and Steven May at the end of the game was unfortunate because it took away the gloss from Melbourne’s performance in winning almost everywhere but on the scoreboard in its Kings Birthday clash with Collingwood at the MCG. It was a real battle reminiscent of the good old days when the rivalry between the two clubs was at its height and a fitting contest to celebrate the 2025 Australian of the Year, Neale Daniher and his superb work to bring the campaign to raise funds for motor neurone disease awareness to the forefront. Notwithstanding the fact that the Magpies snatched a one point victory from his old club, Daniher would be proud of the fact that his Demons fought tooth and nail to win the keenly contested game in front of 77,761 fans.

  • PREGAME: Port Adelaide

The Demons are set to embark on a four-week road trip that takes them across the country, with two games in Adelaide and a clash on the Gold Coast, broken up by a mid-season bye. Next up is a meeting with the inconsistent Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval. Who comes in and who goes out?

  • POSTGAME: Collingwood

Despite effectively playing against four extra opponents, the Dees controlled much of the match. However, their inaccuracy in front of goal and inability to convert dominance in clearances and inside 50s ultimately cost them dearly, falling to a heartbreaking one-point loss on King’s Birthday.
