What a horror that last game was. Bicep, meniscus and ACL injuries. It appears his body cannot take the rigors of modern AFL? I hope the club does everything to assist in his rehab, as it is hard to imagine he will be on the list next season. Is he out of contract?

When you are likely to be delisted for the second time at close to 30 and you do an ACL, that would seem a strong possibility.

He has been very unlucky with injuries.

I was being nice.

Just bad luck and bad timing and possibly putting himself in harms way more often than not – nothing else.

A good player and a good bloke. Wishing him a good recovery.

Hate to knock a good bloke when hes down but the list management decision to re-sign him last year, pass on Riak Andrew (who Swom have already extended out for a 3rd year) and not use the rookie spot on AJ instead of the ND pick, was poor forward thinking and overly optimistic on our chances this year

He just has. His recovery is coming along great and he’s really pleased about it but he knows it’s time to call time on his career.

Didn't know how to 'react' as not trying to besmirch him or his retirement, shame it didnt work out this time with cursed run of injuries. Great bloke though by all accounts, lived his dream.

I really liked him first time round at the club and didn't know why they let him go. Second time round injuries have just been overwhelming. I am sorry he never really made a go of it.

Just wish it worked out a bit better for him. Plenty of stories just like this in the league.

One of the good guys, all the best Marty,

Good luck Marty Hore, so sad that you didn’t get the opportunity to play more games due to injuries. I met him at the family day at the G in 2019, he was such a friendly bloke and easy to talk with. I was happy when we picked him up the second time around but Marty has had a diabolical time with season ending injuries. Hope you have better luck with the next phase of your life Marty.👍😁

Where do we find the official announcement - Marty Hore and Mark Williams? Any chance members ever get anything from the Club first?

Marty’s news isn’t official yet.

For all your news needs please contact Tom Morris c/o Clarry’s dumpster.

It would have been nice for Marty and the club to orchestrate his own announcement of his retirement. I appreciate the update and sentiment, but resignations should be dictated by the person who retires.

But everyone knows that anything I ever say on here should be taken with a grain of salt. I’ve been accused of embellishment, passing off guesses as facts and even straight up fabrication.

Besides, I heard of this while with a group of others who also heard it so it’s not like huge attempts are being made to keep it quiet. Also, it’s hardly earth-shattering news, it actually comes as no surprise.

Finally, please don’t say you appreciate the update and sentiment when you obviously don’t. That’s called lying.

One career goal, one absolute belter at a crucial time of a game. Good strike rate.

* and one ludicrously proportioned video.
