DTJ 95 Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 With Hawthorn pretty far down the line with other forward line trades - could we swoop in? I would love to see Gunston lining up for goal in the red and blue… Could pick 41 make it happen or a future 2nd? https://www.sen.com.au/news/2023/10/12/report-gunston-seeking-return-to-hawks-after-brief-brisbane-stint/ Quote
Yarra Valley Demon 127 Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 I'd be keen, would add a different dimension to the forward line, some hardness and precision and experience, 2 years ala jordan lewis style, not huge money and a late pick, for the right price there's upside there Quote
DTJ 95 Posted October 13, 2023 Author Posted October 13, 2023 (edited) I don’t know about that BDA, I think he’s just had an interrupted season. He’s also been behind a far better forward line than ours. How would you feel about Gunston if we lost Petty? It might be Petty and pick 41 for pick 10 and Gunston. On the flip side, Jack Gunston to the Hawks might leave Mabior Chol out in the wind… Edited October 13, 2023 by DTJ 1 Quote
Yarra Valley Demon 127 Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 Brisbane have released a statement saying he wants to go back to the Hawks. Assuming the Hawks want him back and can do a deal to satisfy Brisbane that is. Quote

Bring-Back-Powell 15,547 Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 Yeah I'd take him, but if he's specifically requested a trade to Hawthorn, then he'll get to Hawthorn. Quote

Mickey 4,777 Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 We have Fritta. Gunston isn't the key forward we need Quote

Turning 32 on Monday so if we get him for nothing on A 1 year deal why not 2 Quote
Diamond_Jim 12,772 Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 That Casey forward line is looking rather crowded 1 3 Quote
Bring-Back-Powell 15,547 Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 Brisbane probably couldn't guarantee Gunstan a game next year in his exit interview. I didn't think they missed him in the finals, and didn't have a great year overall. Quote
Mach5 4,768 Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 Maybe we should ask the question of Nick Riewoldt too? Wayne Carey? Kernahan? Maybe Garry Lyon or the Ox want another go? 4 Quote
