Have you been living under a rock? May became the best key defender in the game after he got traded to us. Not to mention that Lever and Hibberd have had their career best years under us too.

Aside from maybe Jeremy Howe, I can't think of anyone in recent years who actually reached their potential after leaving Melbourne.

Cam Pedersen played some terrific footy for us after he was traded from North.

last bench spot/sub is anyone's guess

As much as I’d like to get involved in a pile on and prove to @IRW that their post was rubbish, I have news:

Apparently Tom Morris likes his surname pronounced like how a French person would say “Maurice”.

Steven May? Michael Hibberd? Ed Langdon? Jake Lever?

Seriously?

They were all good at the time

May was Captain

Lever a gun.

How is the latest unfulfilled high draft pick going in his new environment ?

Give me a break please.

Actually that he's not a big body is the problem I see

I completely forgot how good Bernie Vince was when he came to us too. He was an absolute gun.

Yeah he was  but  my question for you geniuses was which unfulfilled talent  did the Dee's make better?

I think Salem is a high half back only. It is the easiest position on the ground and suits his exceptional ability to read the play and hit targets.

He does not have the engine required to play ANB's role or play wing and I don't think he is big enough or quick enough to play inside midfield.

Agree on half forward and wing, disagree on midfield. Assuming his body gets fit and healthy I think he can play the Pendles role who sits in the corridor and directs traffic and folds back to help the backline.

He could even rotate with someone like Rivers taking more centre bounces then switching with Salo.

If our aim is to move the ball with switches and corridor play then we could do with Salem as a fold back midfielder and ask our wings to push in and forward more.

Our mids are contest to contest followers. We need at least one more creative midfielder who provides uncontested possessions.

  • POSTGAME: Collingwood

Despite effectively playing against four extra opponents, the Dees controlled much of the match. However, their inaccuracy in front of goal and inability to convert dominance in clearances and inside 50s ultimately cost them dearly, falling to a heartbreaking one-point loss on King’s Birthday.

  • CASEY: Collingwood

It was freezing cold at Mission Whitten Stadium where only the brave came out in the rain to watch a game that turned out to be as miserable as the weather.
The Casey Demons secured their third consecutive victory, earning the four premiership points and credit for defeating a highly regarded Collingwood side, but achieved little else. Apart perhaps from setting the scene for Monday’s big game at the MCG and the Ice Challenge that precedes it.
Neither team showcased significant skill in the bleak and greasy conditions, at a location that was far from either’s home territory. Even the field umpires forgot where they were and experienced a challenging evening, but no further comment is necessary.
