I'm probably not too far off the mark in suggesting that perhaps you haven't spent much time in a rehearsal studio at an elite level ballet company.

I was never a member of an elite level ballet company but I was forced to take ballet lessons for a couple of years as a child since my mum thought it would cure my  clumsiness (it didn’t). I can tell you, my ballet mistress would strike fear into the heart of the toughest AFL player. She’d eat AFL players for breakfast.  😁

Id give Maxxy a little slack Jaded...he was mercilessly held, scragged, chopped all game for sfa recognition by the maggots.

It was deplorable.

Not only that.  His match the week before was pretty massive even for Max.

If i recall correctly he had a huge 22 contested possessions.  Tracc & Clarry around the 15 mark.

Another reason why we needed Schache to come on as a chop out in thd 2nd half.

Where was the game day analyst advising on the numbers?  Including the fact that T-Mac was not 'in the game' at all as per the previous week

I know we'll possibly not agree on how the starting selection may have been... but Max was incredulously poorly managed.  Thats on you know who.....

I love Max more than any other player to have ever played for this club. But I’m sure if you ask him he’ll tell you his two shots on goal were not good enough. He had the chance to ice the game twice and twice he didn’t. I’m sure he isn’t happy with that.

Have absolutely no qualms about that.

Opportunities gone begging.

He did have mates....

But... gee whizz

He definitely wasn’t alone. He’s also our captain. I’ve seen him kick clutch goals before. That was not good enough.

The club will be ruing the putrid goal kicking thar cost us 4 points during the season, a top 2 finish, and ultimately finals and a chance at a flag.

Uhm… thanks (?)

Not sure if you’re being sarcastic.

I shared what I’ve been told. Emotions are clearly still running hot here and people generally don’t like what they hear after such a heartbreaking end to the season, no matter what’s said. 🙁

You were guessing, weren’t you? Well, the correct answer is: My thank you is sincere. I truly need this type of internal information to make better judgments.

There is also a factor that affects my expression in Demonland. For instance, in the POSTGAME: RD24 VS SYDNEY thread, I wrote: ”To Brayshaw, you have been playing excellent footy for 6-7 weeks now, have a good break, see you in the QF”. I was waiting for a big game from GUS in the QF, but then he was knocked out cold less than 10 minutes into the game…

Agree that we were the better side last week aside from our conversion. Even Carlton supporters will concede we were the better side.

However the Pies were the better side on the night of the QUAL final, certainly for 3 quarters, and held a 3-5 goal lead for almost the entire night. Yes it was a golden opportunity but the Pies were ultimately too good for us when the game was up for grabs early.

The Grundy experiment failed. We can all agree on that now i think.

However i want to applaud the FD for attempting to do something different whether you agree with or not. Looking for the competitive edge is not easy, you will fail more often than you will succeed. '

In the cool light of day, i can accept his trade request, we shake hands and move on respectively. Everyone is annoyed it didn't work out but i wouldn't let this one bad failure deter us from trying to innovate. In fact, we need to do more of it.

Yeah I admire the calculated risk, I'll also admire them if they get us out of this unscathed.

You win some you lose some but you keep moving your chess pieces as needed.

I’m not sure it was ever used to eat effect. Gawn 50% ruck, 25% forward and 25% bench, same for Grundy but rather than forward he gets subbed out in the last quarter for some more run.

Who cares what Goody says in his pressers, or how he says it. He’s not obliged to tell anyone anything, our supporters included. It’s what’s said behind closed doors that matters, and we aren’t privy to that. On that subject though, I’ve been told by a reliable source that Goody unleashed a scathing verbal attack on the whole team straight after Friday’s match. He didn’t hold back, it was brutal, he ripped right through them, even singling players out, Kozzie being one such player. And it seems the players were told there’d be no Mad Monday for them, and that Goody is gonna get them “out on the track harder and earlier” this off-season.

I do hope he also had some words to the leadership group, they were not goog enough on Friday.

They may not have had Mad Monday but they are definitely having Wacky Wednesday if Grundy's instagram stories are anything to go by

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
