Happy for Hogan and Bedford. Big Big Sound for flag.

As a Demon tragic first an an ABC (Anyone But Collingwood) supporter second, I'll be rooting for the Giants, Hogan and Bedford for the flag.

Nice to see Hogan so much more comfortable talking to the media. He absolutely hated doing it when he was a young kid at Melbourne.

Got jealous watching giants in the 2nd quarter. Nice to see Hogan in form. They can certainly do the job on the filth.

Aside from his football talents, Toby Greene won me over during the week on AFL 360 with his no BS no cliche interviews.

When Gerard Whateley asked him if he had a major amount of empathy for the scrutiny placed on Maynard, his simple answer was “no”

Giants can absolutely beat the Pies. They won’t care at all about the crowd. They’re used to never having it on their side.

They will have the neutrals.

They are fast, play in small pockets and are desperate.

Good backline, mids and forwards.

Hinkley out coached.

Playing the one trick pony (Woods) who haven't done that fast, bang, bang for a while.

Also, have a dream to fulfill.

That was an outstanding first half by the Giant.

Giants are up and about.  Tough ask to get over the filth at home but they have nothing to lose and will go in as rank underdogs.

But a stack of belief and a fantastically balanced side that's set for finals footy.

Can only hope the filth go in super cocky.

it's amazing that jesse hogan is about to be 29 at the start of next season

it feels like just yesterday i was putting all my hopes and dreams into his 16 year old self

Probably bit ritch on a Melbourne thread !!!

At least we’ve won a flag 2 years ago!

What Port fans are saying:

-What a s**t season

-This one is on you Koch, Richardson, Hinkley and the ******* happy clappers. Destroyed the Port Adelaide established 1978

-It all started with the pissweak middle, lycett is so ******* s**t and slow. Delist

-The supporters of all clubs need to come together to somehow extract Ken Hinkley not just from the club, but from the AFL industry

-Completely pointless season

-I am so down on this club that I'm not even sad about this being Boak's last game.

-I don’t advocate for violence but man, Hinkley’s face is testing me

-Boak has a big role to play in this , had to power to get rid of Ken but sucked him off to the power brokers

-Let’s see Kochie defend this fraud

-Honestly Mcentee just delist yourself and [censored] right off and take a few others with you.

-Gutless all of them

-Did we really deserve getting Hinkley 11 years ago??

-This era has really killed my interest in footy

-It was inevitable the second we signed Hinkley before the finals. Pressure off. Straight sets exit. Completely unacceptable. If there is any accountability at the club, both the board and Hinkley step down.

-And once again tonight we got to see Hinkley under pressure and it wasn't a pretty sight. No moves, no motivation, barely an adjustment, just the old "I'll have faith" with is code for I haven't got a clue and I'm too scare to try anything.

-Looking forward to hearing this [censored] clown in the presser. He’ll have no answers as always, just some [censored] about having one bad quarter and some inaccurate kicking…..but the game plan is fine…

-Just like Koch they hide behind doing nothing as being wise and measured but it's just two old guys who don't know but like playing the pretend game as it's good for the egos.

-Another pathetic finals performance. That second quarter was below amateur standard.

-Watch everyone responsible for this diabolical mess disappear into thin air and not emerge until the autumn

-Good luck finding Koch anywhere, the weak, snivelling, moronic excuse-laden fraud

-A putrid club that was no right whatsoever to call itself the Port Adelaide Football Club. We're dead.

Cornes’ comments around Goodwin, the MFC more broadly and, most recently, Gus have been bang out of order all year!

He can now FRO.

Really happy for Hogan and Bedford.

Yep. Kane Cornes suffering tonight makes me incredibly happy. One of the biggest biased knobs going around.

In fairness to Cornes he never once gave Port a chance to win the flag. Said their defence wouldn’t be up to scratch in finals and he was proven correct.

His defence of Maynard was cringeworthy but he was correct with Port.

how does Hickley get a gig after 11 years?

Hone to the Giants. Giants should have won by 10 goals

Based on this year he did pretty well. They aside from a couple of good, young midfielders have a very ordinary list.

At least we're not the only ones.

Port do serve up some horror home finals defeats. They've been spanked twice in 3 years (doggie pf in 2021 and last night) in big finals in front of their own fans. At least we've been spared that (small mercies i know)

The Giants sack their coach and get rid of two plodding mids and this happens....just saying!!!

Hardest thing Zak Butters did all night - picked on a trainer - [censored].

Watched the Kayo mini of yesterday's game. Not only was a thrilled to see the Dubs get up and Jesse play a brilliant game but how great was it to see the Port Adelaide Crows fans crying like the jerks that they are. Looks like it's not your year thundercrackers!

how come carlton get 8 days to pf but giants only get 6 days

i know, i know, let's try and get a filth vs baggers gf ... [censored] afl

i so hope for a giants vs lions gf

It's Game Day and the Demons have a chance to notch up their third consecutive win — something they haven’t done since Round 5, 2024. But to do it, they’ll need to exorcise the Demons of last year’s disastrous trip out West. Can the Dees continue their momentum, right the wrongs of that fateful clash, and take another step up the ladder on the road to redemption?

  • FEATURE: 1925

A hundred years ago today, on 2 May 1925, Melbourne kicked off the new season with a 47 point victory over St Kilda to take top place on the VFL ladder after the opening round of the new season.  Top place was a relatively unknown position for the team then known as the “Fuchsias.” They had finished last in 1923 and rose by only one place in the following year although the final home and away round heralded a promise of things to come when they surprised the eventual premiers Essendon. That victory set the stage for more improvement and it came rapidly. In this series, I will tell the story of how the 1925 season unfolded for the Melbourne Football Club and how it made the VFL finals for the first time in a decade on the way to the ultimate triumph a year later.
