Negative;

- Very low possession count. Under ten a game on average for 2023 and career. Not everyone has to be an accumulator but in the context of us having several low-possessions forwards and half-forwards already, it is a drawback.

I don't mind the low possesion count given his high score involvement numbers. He is damaging.

With the amount of time the ball spends in our forward line he could make a real difference.

In that set up McAdam starts on the bench and becomes to rotation for Fritsch, Petty and JVR.  Which when i look at it that way i don't mind.  Especially if JVR is going to be our back up ruck.

I need to get it into my head that McAdam is now a Dee and i MUST love him now! I WILL love him, just give me time!

Im not sure if this guy will talk into the starting line up. He seems more in the Fritta / Melksham mould, playing closer to goal - not sure if we can afford less pressure players in the way we play.

Are we thinking with McAdams  up forward that Kozzie will spend more time in the midfield?

It gives us more flexibility to do so for sure.  Whether Goodwin is willing or wanting is another matter.

Flexibility now for both Kozzy to play more regular mid minutes and Tracc for more stints up forward.

We need to land at least one decent mid in the draft also.

Based on our current hand, hopefully an outside(ish) Sanders type.  Caddy would also be nice if he slipped through to 11 (unlikely).

Didn't realise he's 28 already, he came on the scene late. Is a fair bit taller then chandler and kossie, so could nearly be a 3rd target, but knows where the goals are.

More than depth as previously surmised. McAdam is a spaceman, leading quickly forward, across multiple angles. He has pace - keeps the ball in sight and leads opponents to that ball with pace and good anticipation. He has some good goal-shooting skills and is strong in the set shots. I really like his skip-in, skip-away with the ball in possession at pace. Should balance well with the talls, with midfielders looking for his leads, with teamed efforts with the likes of Chandler, Fritta and Petty. Could be dangerous against most AFL opponents. Could well decoy for most of the key forwards, as well (thinking JVR and Petty under a high-pressure defender.

Given Kozzie is unavailable for round 1, I'd say that increases his chances that he does walk into the starting line up.

I would think that the club views him as a locked in best 23 player to start the season but I could be wrong.

Based on 2023 averages he would be our second highest tackler inside 50 (1.4) behind Kozzy and above AFL averages.

His general tackling was above AFL averages also @ 3.3

His pressure rating is at AFL average

No slouch in this aspect.  He'll be fine and if anything will actually up our forward pressure.

For this reason alone I love him already. Hang in there, Travy. The love will grow. 😁

Fully fit Fritsch and McAdam could be a nightmare duo to matchup for opposition defences in 2024

That's two who lead for the ball. Both excellent kicks.

I've heard from a reliable source the real reason McAdam wanted out of the crows was so he never again had to wear that God awful yellow clash strip.

Source?

Only if we clean up delivery though.

The way we bring it in has been diabolical for large chunks over the past two seasons.

All of McAdam's existing strengths might not see as much light of day if we don't and then many on here will be bemoaning the trade 😄

It's a good deal given the quality of the player, the dearth of forward talent on offer and we never entered into the nonsense Petty linked trade talk.

Effectively we've exchanged Grundy for Fullarton & McAdam as mentioned on trade radio.

Totally. We need someone who can make chances from few touches.

Great pick up.
Career averages:

Elite - tackles inside 50

Elite - marks inside 50

Above - Goals

Above - accuracy

Sounds like the perfect pick up for our mess of a forward line

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
