4. Brayshaw

3. Petracca.

2. JVR

i know I’m probably missing an obvious one. Viney was good, Rivers ok.

Love the kudos that ANB is getting, he is in ripping form and finishing his work beautifully.

No gong for five-goal Fritter?

haha. I always list my votes without referencing any stats or anybody else. I honestly forgot about Fritter until I'd submitted my votes and then went 'doh' after i saw everyone else.

6-Viney-Epic, could have played footy in any decade in the last 100 years and would still be the toughest guy in it.

Fritsch-5 goals on return, is a movie plot you wouldn’t believe.

Trac-power through traffic.

ANB-in any starting 18 in the league.

Brayshaw-working so hard.

Rivers-hard to split with McVee but just.

Apologies to Langdon and Clarry and Sparrow and May

Clarry did lots of work, but felt like he is not releasing other players as well as he normally does.

I just want to say thank you DLers for all your votes. Without you this award doesn't happen.

There's always different perceptions of what a good game is and I really enjoy reading the number of different slants on performances. Give yourselves a pat on the back!

6.  Viney - strong all game, and along with Petracca, turned the game in our favour when it needed to be turned.

5.  Petracca - Viney’s main accomplice in turning the game our way, but had a quieter first half.

4.  Fritsch -  won the game off his own boot.  Welcome back Fritta, but no more ‘scares’ please.

3.  Neal-Bullen  -  continued to play his (very underrated) role to perfection.

2.  Brayshaw  -  ‘work horse’ continuing to produce, week in, week out.

1.  McVee  -  played like a top shelf veteran, as usual.

Langdon, Hunter and Rivers also earned a mention.

By the numbers;

6 Jack Viney

5 Bayley Fritsch

4 Christian Petracca

3 Alex Neal-Bullen

2 Clayton Olivier

1 Angus Brayshaw

Honourable mentions;

Jake Bowey

Edward Langdon

Steven May

Judd McVee

Kysaiah Pickett

Joel Smith

Special mention;

Jake Melksham all the best for a speedy recovery. Follow that dream Jake.

Adjudication;

Free kick deferential was favourable, play in front boys. Razor Ray deserves his cheque.

Opposition hyperbole watch;

Buddy farewell! It's been a long and spectacular career.

Broadcasters;

No real complaints. Adequate and none intrusive overall.

From the director's chair;

Admirable resilience and ability to arrest opposition momentum swings. As Goody says it is a 'hallmark' of this year's team. Go deep into September Demons!

If it wasn't for the broadcasters I wouldn't have known that Sydney was playing for a home final. How many times did it get mentioned? 10? 12?

I like that 28 players out of the 33 that have played have polled, says good things about the depth of the squad. would have though Viney would have been closer to Trac though.

    Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

    A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

    BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

    Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
