Good to be so positive, from someone who has reached the pinnacle before.
Now though is the time to walk the walk and silence the doubters.

Call to arms. On our turf. Last five, Lets make it Six.

In the Centre it will be them who Holds all the time. Get on to it umps

In the Forward line it will be them who blocks and holds all the time.

In the Backline it will be them who looks at each other about who gets it.

In the end it will be us who runs around the Boundary.

I’ll cop immediately that this is pedantry at its finest but Tracc didn’t say that we’re ready for finals?

He states we’ve found our game again and there are still 3 games until finals… if anything he’s saying that ‘we’ve regained our brand and are starting to dominate offensively BUT there are still 3 games UNTIL finals.’

So no, Christian Petracca didn’t say ‘the Dees are ready for finals’

From a journalism point of view this is factually wrong…

In saying that, we are absolutely ready for finals, haha

Check out the embedded video from 4 or 5 weeks ago that hasn't aged well at all:

*  Loyd questioning and throwing doubt on the capasity of our forwards to kick enough goals

* Carro being Carro and throwing around rumors of cultural issues that are potentially holding the club back premiership hangover style as evidenced by the May Vs Melky punch up last year; Mark Williams might be gone next year due to soft cap issues and demand elsewhere etc.

The main one on the pannel that actually stood in the corner of the MFC and somewhat backed us in was Kane Corns on the basis of our talent profile and strong defensive game.

Christian Petracca.

Sometimes I still have to pinch myself over how good you've become as a player and person. Forever indebted.

Cheesy moment over.

“I just have a sneaky suspicion that Melbourne's going to step it up.

“I just think that Melbourne are going to come good.

“I think they've got last year and everything else (behind them), they dominated that year.

“There's something about that group, I think they've got players coming back, they've got depth, they can turn it on there's another gear or two in them and I just don't know if the other teams have those gears.”

As well as being a three-time premiership player, Akermanis is a Brownlow Medallist having taken home ‘Charlie’ in 2001.

The 325-gamer is predicting a draw in this year’s count and locked in who he thinks will finish on the podium.

“I think (Christian) Petracca and Bont (Marcus Bontempelli) might be a draw,” Akermanis said.

“It could be close. But if Nick Daicos, Petracca and the Bont aren't the top three, I’ll eat my hat.

“They're just having a great season. There might be a couple I might have missed, but I watch a lot of games.

“I'm pretty sure those three should be there no matter what.

“There are some quality players that may sneak under the guard.

“But so many good players are playing in teams that aren't winning, so that hurts, and I think those boys have been winning enough.”

If you've every listened to the Real Footy podcast with Caro, Michael Gleeson & Jake Niall, Caro is constantly trying to pot our crowds saying she was disappointed in the turn out. The other two then say, oh no I thought the crowd was fine for that fixture. Has happened multiple times. A heap of people in the media seem to treat us with disdain, but whetever who gives a F, let's just prove them wrong.

FYI I don't listen to that podcast anymore because of her.

I wonder if Caro mentioned the Tigers could only rustle up 54k for their round 20 home game against us - and 70% were probably dees fans.

Perfect day for footy, tigers still in the hunt for finals and playing an old Vic rival. And only 54k?

Tiger army?

More like a Cubs troop.

It may be just my perception, but it seems that you've got a lot punchier since you got your own @Binmans PA.

Caro loves an opportunity to put us down. She is transparent with her prejudices, doesn’t even bother trying to disguise them

Funnily enough after the Dogs game at the start of the season she mentioned the crowd. I then went to check the corresponding game that the Tigers played the Dogs the year before and the crowd size was almost identical.

So if Oliver comes back and he and Viney are in top top form, does Trac do a Dusty and play fwd in all the finals?

Well Loyd was correct about our forwards to kick enough goals, but in the last few weeks they have shifted in how they delivered the ball into the forward line now they are not as predictable and apart from the first quarter last week where we just dumped it in, the second and third quarter showed what they can do when they spread and although Petty is out they need to keep playing this way.

I don't know why anyone bothers to listen to her, she only seems to be interested in potting clubs, us in particular, and the murkier side of AFL football.

I don't listen to her and can only go by what I read on here, but it certainly doesn't encourage me too. It's always a joy to beat Richmond,

Most of the football commentators dislike Melbourne because we were a basket case for such a long time, and they seem to think our supporters lack passion and aren't prepared to go to games. Perhaps they should look at our attendance record this year; they may be surprised.

Agree, and anyone who still uses snow jokes has a bee in their bonnet about it.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
