My tip for the bench:

Spargo

Sparrow

Petty

Hibberd

Smith (sub)

Meaning woey, harmes and tomo dropped.

Goody isn’t making 3 changes from a win like that. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s just:

In: Sparrow

Out: Woewodin

You can tie me to an anthill and smear my ears with jam if Petty isn't in the starting 22.

Imagine if they drop him. Nah mate, a power FF is not what we need. Thanks anyway.

Yeah, not certain Spargo comes back.

Also they have to bring back Sparrow and keep someone to drop for Oliver…

Agree he needs a hitout but it can't be at Casey. Would be great if this bloopy game was in 2 weeks.

They're very capable of managing player loads without games these days. Salem earlier in the year was a perfect example.

If Petty can lockdown his forward role for the rest of the season I wonder if we will really consider going for @Pennant St Dee man Daniel Curtain in the upcoming draft. We already needed to bring in a key back to cover May. We may need to replace Petty in the backline now as well.

There's always Adams developing back there, but I love the sound of Curtin.

I would hate to think of the reaction on here if Goody actually implemented some of the changes being mooted, and we went on to lose.
North are a poor side, but beating them in Tassie is never as easy as everyone expects. Even in 2021 they did a number on us down there before some Bayley Fritsch brilliance got us out of jail. Clarko is back too, just to complicate things even further.

Of course I still fully expect to win but I don’t advocate resting multiple players at all. Viney (shoulder) maybe, but only if he really needs it and only if Clarry is back.
Otherwise, we should take this game seriously and play our best side. Percentage is another crucial factor.
Fortunately Goody has never really been into resting players, even our pre season hit outs are normally best available.
With all that said and done, I’d like to see Harmes out for Sparrow. JJ can make way for Clarry the following week. Taj will probably get caught by Spargo at some stage. And then Fritsch will squeeze in. That’s about it.

Great post, but I'm glad we're not resting Viney. Without Oliver, if we don't have Viney's intensity, already missing Trac, our midfield is decidedly average.

When Clarry is back, if Viney is sore, you could rest him for Hawthorn, but I reckon they'll push Viney until the end of the H&A season.

😂 the sacrificial lamb selection strategy.  “Ok JJ, you’re in this week, but next week you’re back to the scoobies for Clarry”.

Even WORSE Spargy Pants in the squad!?? He was very very ordinary last week in the half he played! What about rewarding guys like Andy Moniz Wakefield who was sensational in a loss last! Time to reward FORM Goody!

Because it is round 21 and there is absolutely no upside into bringing in a novice into a team that is contending for a flag. There is a process in place here bud. See Van Rooyen, Chandler, McVee. Do the time in the magoo’s, learn the system, etc, etc.

Your dislike for Spargo is really getting very predictable, unfair and unwanted imo

Perhaps it’s time to not say anything if you haven’t got anything positive or constructive to add

Spargo and Chandler plsy different roles..

I suspect spargo comes in for Woey, who had been playing spargo's role.

Maybe, but I think we should change what we were doing earlier this year and use the spot Woey's vacated with another midfielder, not another small forward.

IMO playing Spargo alongside ANB, Chandler and Pickett is too much, and we're better off using that spot as another midfielder, all the more so whilst Oliver's not playing.

Better lather up. Reckon he will start on the bench like he did last week. Goody often does this probably to mess with the opposition match up. One of our key forwards invariably starts on the pine.

Exactly.

As goody has said many times its not about one flag.

It's about being in contention to win a flag for years.

The club has been brilliant under goofy in terms of ensuring young players are brought into the team.

Sparrow, koz and Bowey are terrific examples. Played in a flag as kids.

Will all be senior players in three years time.

Mcvee and jvr are on the same path.

That would be in the starting 22 (as opposed to the injury sub or one of the three emergencies).

I can only see Harmes keeping his place if we want him to be a tagger in the next round or two. Thats his one wood.

He has a very good approach and movement.    It is just so outrageous though that there is no VFL game again this week - wasn't there a bye about 2-3 weeks ago?

The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti
