In - Supporters. It’s been a month since we had a G game.

Get to the ground. Help the players build momentum and belief. It really makes a difference.

I would like JVR to return.
Kosi needs something. A rocket. A confidence boost at Casey. Something.

$2.25 for the lions is rediculous have the bookies not watched us the last few weeks

I think the bookies don't read Demonland and get caught up in the hyper critical groupthink that has started to go on here.

Kick straight the last 5 weeks leading into tonight and we'd be top of the table.

And Brisbane lost to Hawthorn on the G a month ago. They get exposed on the bigger ground.

No Oliver for that game is huge, but if we can match them for contest, we very likely beat them.

I doubt you'll get many in agreement re Harmes.

Probably. But a lot for Jvr.

Would like to see more forward pressure this game.

Bbb and Milk were good on other areas but both had zero tackles.

Goody made some big calls at the selection table and they paid off against the Saints. Kudos to him.

I'm glad JVR has had a couple of weeks to recharge at Casey but i want to see him come in against the Lions. If we win the flag, he'll be in the 22 for sure. I want to see him tested against another contender and also see how he goes working in tandem with BBB. We need that partnership to click so the more games they play together before finals the better.

Has to be at least two weeks at Casey.

Became the invisible man last night and mostly ball watching / chasing tail.

He had one effective spoil, a couple of effective disposals (barely), i think a few turnovers and a couple of tackles / pressure acts.

Zero impact on the match and in general play.

Really sad to watch.  He is so badly out of form he can't even gather a loose ground ball atm and mostly just over runs them leaving it to others to get, including the oppo.

Still going for last minute speckie attempts against big boys up forward and never takes them.

No front and square work or effective work.

Any touch he had earlier in the season has completely gone.

If Moniz can string another game or two with the form he showed last week, plus some serious defensive heat inside 50, there's no reason he shouldn't be in serious contention as an alternative.

Subject to bringing that, he could be very close to joining Woe on debut.

Kozzy's left the door ajar big time and not just with last night's performance.

Dropping back to Casey isn't going to be available in some upcoming weeks. There is a bye next week and again on the weekend of 6 August. Casey will finish, I expect, top 6, so in the first week of finals there is no game as 7,8,9 and 10 battle for 2 last spots. If they finish top 4, likely, and win there is no game the following week.

Can't see the SC bringing Harmes back for some time after last week's performance.

There's some very good performances happening at Casey of late.  Follow up results this week might see one or two sticking their hand up.

The two small forward spots in particular must surely be up for grabs along with Smith's sub position.

In particular JVR, Jefferson, Sestan, Dunstan, Moniz and Chandler will be interesting watches.

Another good result from JVR surely sees him come in to join BB.  Subject to bringing that form it would be crazy not to have him in against the Lions.

Best to take a good look at the Casey performance today before making calls on ins/outs.

Them's the breaks Bystander.  Can't carry players in a form slump at this level for weeks on end in the hope it somehow clicks in a future match at some point.

Too costly and can be the difference on the day.  Possibly even the diff between a top 4 spot or missing out on the double chance.

If we were sitting 3 games or more clear its a little different and gives the SC a bit more wriggle room.

God I hope Clarry is available.

In addition to Kozzy i'm worried about Max and if we will ever see the best of him again this season. We can't win the flag without him.

On current form Brisbane should be too good.

He won’t be.

Of course, no issue with that.

I was really just pointing out some issues with the VFL fixture which will limit the capacity to give someone a run at Casey to find form, come back from injury, wake up call or whatever.

I would love to see Smith come in and play on Cameron. His tackling, pace and marking make him too good for Casey and I think he is actually a better backman.
May and Petty to take Hipwood and Daniher. Lever to Gunston.
JVR comes in for either Gawn or Grundy. 2 half ruckman/ half forwards is not what the team need. We need a bonafide forward and JVR can provide ruck assistance.

I doubt any changes unless forced being Casey play today and we back up Friday night. Koz is still getting high pressure acts (top 3) but looks confused in his attack on the ball and has played high TOG last 2 weeks which would be affecting his burst speed. Also unlikely to ommit Melksham after his role last night.  I would like to see JVR for a small on the MCG but cant see us making the change.

The last time he played on Cameron he got 5 kicked on him.

Pass.

Who shall he kick 5 on this week?

Is Hibbo a chance? If medically cleared he’s a big chance for mine as he’s the best matchup for Cameron.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.
