Paging the Demon Army @WalkingCivilWar

Collingwood want to go from a point as quick as possible (usually from the ball bag behind the goals). If the ball comes into the cheer squad from a Demons point punch/throw it as far back onto the ground as possible.

The umpire will stop the game to get the second ball off, and give us the crucial few seconds we need to structure up.

Also... I got away with saying 'ball bag'. Cop that Demonland filters.

Love your way of thinking. Only one problem… oftentimes the ball that comes into the cheer squad takes out a pair of glasses or someone’s state of consciousness upon landing thereby delaying its return to play and by this time another ball’s been fetched from the ballbag.

edit: I deliberately didn’t put a space between ball and bag and still no censorship! Seems we’re both winners tonight 😃

Watching this game, I can really see us giving the pies serious trouble in the finals. Like us, there forward line is their weakest link.

If you rob them of fast ball movement, they will absolutely struggle to score.

I would’ve picked DeGoey and Howe as your two favs.

DeGoey is in a league of his own.

Another week that the teams behind us are gifting us the top 4 place.

We take care of the Saints tomorrow and we'll be 4 points plus percentage in front on that tight race for 4th on the ladder.

See????? I’m feeling brazen now. Ima go big… [censored] I [censored] hate those Collingwood [censored].

Yeah nah. Didn’t work. At least I won’t die wondering.

The media [censored] about the Pies is pathetic. Would think they have won their last 100 games.

Don't like him - he reminds me of Stuart Broad too much

No way!!!! Stuart Broad is painfully uncool. He has terrible posture. He walks on the balls of his feet like a toddler, he pulls the most exaggerated facial expressions and he wears that stupid white kerchief around his head which looks even stupider when he tries to put his cap on over it.

What part of their footballing are you not impressed with?

Nick Daicos has now recorded 25+ disposal games against all 17 other teams.
He's played 40 games.

Insane talent.

They’re a bloody good side - play with a lot of freedom and fun.

Naicos seems capable of playing midfield without getting a speck of dirt on him, why can't we play one our smooth moving half backs thru there 🤮

Any side performing as well as they have since midway last year would be receiving the same amount of media attention.

But don't let that get in the way of your hatred of them.

Also, @binmanand @A F, would love to hear a breakdown of how their loading is tracking vs ours.

Collingwood like every side have their weak areas.

But they're streets ahead of us right now in almost all facets. And we are well behind Port and Brisbane.

They way they play is so exciting and attractive to watch. And they're just always in games, no matter how much they're down by.

Tomorrow is a true test for where we sit compared to teams 5th-8th.

Can Goodwin inspire us to a comfortable win against a less talented side who have some significant outs?

I have little confidence.

Relax Big Fella, we’ll beat the Saints

Well, watching Collingwood win tonight isn’t the best way to celebrate the end of dry July.

With their season all over bar the shouting the Demons head back on the road for the third week in a row as they return to Adelaide to take on the Crows. Who comes in and who goes out?

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.

It's Game Day and the Demons are back on the road again and this may be the last roll of the dice to get their 2025 season back on track as they take on the Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium.

  • PREVIEW: Gold Coast

The Gold Coast Suns find themselves outside of the top eight for the first time since Round 1 with pressure is mounting on the entire organisation. Their coach Damien Hardwick expressed his frustration at his team’s condition last week by making a middle-finger gesture on television that earned him a fine for his troubles. He showed his desperation by claiming that Fox should pick up the tab.  There’s little doubt the Suns have shown improvement in 2025, and their position on the ladder is influenced to some extent by having played fewer games than their rivals for a playoff role at the end of the season, courtesy of the disruption caused by Cyclone Alfred in March.  However, they are following the same trajectory that hindered the club in past years whenever they appeared to be nearing their potential. As a consequence, that Hardwick gesture should be considered as more than a mere behavioral lapse. It’s a distress signal that does not bode well for the Queenslanders. While the Suns are eager to remain in contention with the top eight, Melbourne faces its own crisis, which is similarly deep-seated but in a much different way. After recovering from a disappointing start to the season and nearing a return to respectability among its peer clubs, the Demons have experienced a decline in status, driven by the fact that while their form has been reasonable (see their performance against the ladder leader in the Kings Birthday match), their conversion in front of goal is poor enough to rank last in the competition. Furthermore, their opponents find them exceptionally easy to score against. As a result, they have effectively eliminated themselves from the finals race and are again positioned to finish in the bottom half of the ladder.
