Again we play Spargo as sub, following a poor performance at Casey.

He is a one position player who failed to have any impact when sub against Cats.

Is cool under pressure and can set up a goal, but I thought the sub should be a versatile player who can have an immediate impact. I don’t Charlie as that but obviously FD do.

I would have given Melk his 99th game for the Dees as sub, following his 4 goals for Casey last week.

The sub won't be announced until Sunday. You may be misreading the post that references Spargo as the sub who played last round and is not selected in the final squad...but he can still be chosen to be the sub. (Could the AFL find a more complicated way to announce teams?)

Happy BBrown is back. Not happy JVR dropped. Would like to see them play together and ditch Smith.

Nup Im in the opposite camp Van Rooyen has done little since his 3 goal cameo vs Richtank, and I like what Smitb has done so far!!

Solid changes. great to see Brown back. JVR dropped over Smith which is a bit surprising but maybe JVR could do with a week off.

I like the changes but I wouldn’t be surprised if our final tall forward set up in 6 weeks time is Brown, JvR, Fritsch and the resting ruck.

Don't mind seeing JVR given the opportunity to refresh a little with Casey. I'm sure he'll be back in a few weeks - and I reckon he's the kind of player that would relish finals.

Honestly all the channel 7 callers are awful. Darcy and BT by far the worst.

Only one I think is OK is Hamish Mclachlan. He's more natural and doesn't force things like all the others.

Side note does anyone else find that Alister Nicholson sounds so much like Jordan Lewis.

Fox footy callers are so much better. Whately and Hudson are pros

BT is terrible. Thinks it's about him. It ain't. Darcy is a goose. McLachlan not so bad but has some terrible turns of expression like "such and such and change". Hudson sounds like a hyperactive 12 year-old. Whately is OK. Underwood dreadful nasal tones and talks in the cliches she heard growing up (like Eddie McGuire who was a shadow of Lou Richards) Wish Cometti was still at the mike.

I reckon BBB in for JVR is nothing more than the club trialling the BBB, smith and fritta combo for 2 or 3 weeks

JVR will be back in soon…..

Glad to have BBB back but puzzled at JVR's ousting unless he is being rested. With Brown there JVR could have played with more freedom. Hopefully he is a smokey late inclusion.

I'm only mucking around. Playing devils advocate against peoples hope. I like taking a position and being proven wrong. I don't give us much hope this year. Happy to be wrong. As for Collingwood, they were terribly undermanned against us. Replace that Finn McGuiness or whoever he is that replaced Ginnivan and we probably lose. But it was a good win. I was very happy.

Were they though? Let's interrogate this.

Minus Sidebottom, De Goey and Howe. We were minus Oliver (best player in the league), Petty and Bowey.

Not a world apart really.

Nor do I.

I think we'll win 8 of our last 9 games.

I think @old55 was more looking at 15 wins not being enough for top 2 - and he is right.

Just sparing the competition the dominant forward line of a fit Ben Brown, a hungry and angry JVR and an electrifying JSmith. I for one am looking forward to seeing that.

Feels like the best chance of having a couple of functioning key fowards play together is with Brown + JVR, but we like to complicate things

Maybe, but this way we get a look at Brown and Smith together. Smith should compensate for BB's inability at ground level.

Maybe JVR just in case Brown can’t deliver?

would be interesting

but with a ruck fwd it might be too tall

Tomlinson must be livid and rightly so.

Again, we have too many small forwards.

The correct change would have been to keep JVR in and drop one of ANB, Pickett, or Chandler.

Well it has confused me. With sub after his name, I assumed he was sub.

I think therefore that Melk will be sub.

We did drop Spargo though. I think the balance is right now as usually one of those 3 are on the bench.

JVR has to earn his spot like everyone else, Smith worked hard to get here and has played for 2 weeks, he keeps his spot.

JVR is just a kid and kids get dropped. We aren’t a teaching hospital anymore - we are in it to win it.

As I have said through out the year - JVR is promising but he needs development and I just don’t think he is going to get that in the AFL.

He may push out one of smith and brown and I think he will play more games but I think our best team has him outside the 22 this year.

Why do I have such big doubts on BBB. It is like papering over a concrete pillar with wet newspaper.
