If they target anyone. If will be JVR , McVee,  or Spargo  perhaps Chandler

youngest most inexperienced,  the will not pick Kossy cos he would fire right up back at them

we will win this game 20 points I say. Go Dees

Well, you have to give them credit for being leaders in building racist cultures - the Hawks are mere followers.

not sure that the word culture is apt in a collingwood context

I hate the Pies, but we’re currently their bunnies. Only thing I care about is finally beating them after years of embarrassment. Get it done Dees!

Be gentle. The toothbrush was invented by a Collingwood fan after all. (Otherwise it would have been called a 'teethbrush')

I heard that the good folk at Collingwood used Brylcreem (for two decades since 1950) as toothpaste, particularly when told '...a little dab will do ya...'.  It was cheaper than Colgate in those days but in the tube, looked exactly the same. Taste, as with everything Collywobbled, had nothing to do with it.

It (the concept of '...culture...') does seem to be most awkwardly utilised in this context.

What do Collingwood supporters and sperm have in common. LMFAO

Absolutely brilliant. Best Filth joke I have ever heard.

Being married to a Collingwood supporter I am not particularly looking forward to Monday. Should it end up being a Dees/ Pies GF I think my marriage might be doomed. My husband is a much nicer person than I am. I sulk for days after we lose but he just shrugs it off. He also goes to most of the Dees games with me so he really is one of the good guys.

It will however be a long walk home for him on Monday should we lose considering we live two hours away from town.

Yeah I don't have high hopes for a Melb v Coll grand final. Not only will the pulse be racing all week but relationship with my father could be decimated. He's also the much nicer one out of us two, it sucks.

Their loss record aginst us in finals since pre-war is almost perfect.

Collingwood are very good at losing in the finals, team with the most 2nd place medals by a long stretch (was it 27?)

Have a great feeling about this game

Dees by a couple as we destroy their high press game

Oliver best on ground  The Pies run will be finished to be followed by a few more  losses

Go Demons

Really hope they have more in them.

A Carlton friend of mine says the only thing that gives him more joy than seeing Carlton win a flag is seeing Collingwood lose one. I on the other hand would prefer they stay away from any of that and stay bad for the rest of eternity.

Update from bf 'Match Preview' thread:

Still condescending but not so nasty as earlier in the week.  Thankfully they have stopped the horrible comments about Oliver's appearance (which I didn't include in the op) but Fritsch gets a bit of 'attention' albeit good naturedly.

  • The Pies are gonna be decisive...We'll move forward without fear. We'll take things on and being decisive is crucial.  Pies by 9 points!
  • Pies to win a clutch kind of finish of the game and win it by 7 points.
  • With all the s**t people are talking about Grundy this week, you just know he’s going to have a career best game against us…
  • I like Petracca and Oliver.  I don’t like Fritsch. Vanity and footballers don’t sit well together, especially when there’s this thing called ‘Maynard’ who has no regard for carefully coiffed hair.
  • Fritsch will be very nervous.
  • Fritsch doesn't have a garage or a wine cellar but here's a peek at his version of a man cave (Image of a barber's shop follows)
    • Not enough mirrors.
  • Bruzzy is due for a real Bruzzy like performance this week...Fritsch, your number is up, champ.
  • Then there’s the Pie’s momentum, which is also scary. I’m starting to feel sorry for our opposition.
  • I'm not convinced Melbourne are a top 4 side.  We will drop games, but it won't be this one.
  • He was never returning off the back of the hammy, let alone the 'blister' incident.  Crispy to sit on Trac all day now.
  • This will be a good test for when we play the real contenders.

In response to ‘Collingwood’ chant at our training:

  • If thats true then we are deep in their heads. This is Leading Teams/Collective Mind psychobabble stuff, not football.his is some Richmond theme song on a bus type s**t. Wow.
  • They might give our chant a go in their 3/4 time huddle
  • haha they’re scared
  • They're training to win junk time, after we've won the game.
  • Arteta did this for Arsenal training last year before playing Liverpool at Anfield, and it backfired terribly
  • This is the opposite of winning mentality. Good way to put our psychological juju even more in their heads before the game.
  • Collective Mind and Arsenal springs into mind
  • Grundy might have it as his ring tone.
  • Maybe they should concentrate more on our players instead of us supporters. This is like the richmond theme song water board torture. Surely it isn't true.

On their illnesses:

  • Covid still going through the club apparently, will be interesting to see who trains tomorrow…
  • I heard it before Howe went on and said he had covid on tv. Apparently a few still have it. Wait and see tomorrow for training I guess.
  • Channel 7 said Cox had suspected Covid and Josh and someone else have a cold.
  • I’ve heard there’s more but will see tomorrow I guess. Hopefully just precautions and they are fit. Concern is always playing flat after being sick
  • Surely players can play with COVID if they have little to no symptoms?

Finally some humour:

  • I wonder if Ed Langdon and the Melbourne cohort still think we’re all duck and no dinner.
    • Let's show them who we are, and that's one trick ponies.

Hope Fritsch puts on a 2021 GF like performance!

In my op I thought Dees in a heart stopping 9pt victory.  If the illness rumours are true I reckon it will be a comfortable 3 - 4 goal win!!

But I do wish Goodwin had not mentioned Grundy now being at a club that valued him - just fodder to fire them up ala Langdon's comment last year.

Wowee.. 🤣 we're a sensitive bunch.

Some on here are so easily sucked in by words from pies supporters on a different forum.

Only thing that will shut them up is getting the 4 points. Simple.

Go Dee's.

Sensitive!

I thought the colourful descriptions of that team otherwise known as 'The Filth' were quite apt and entertaining, not to mention accurate with a few exceptions of the Coll supporters I know.  (Can't disown family...unless for the KB game)

If I had posted the comments about Oliver's appearance this thread would have gone into meltdown!!

F’me. If we can come out and beat them without Oliver and Petty. This will put them back in their box.

Bunch of self entitled F’wits.

They are still the definition of all duck No dinner. Haven’t won a flag in 12 years, peaked early last year and look to be doing the same this year!

Do they realise Fristch is a bogan from The Basin?

Peaked early?

They were literally one kick off a grand final lol. C'mon mate..

We're true definition of a club that peaked early last year.

Just jealously by them and the usual 'tall poppy' syndrome at play

Playing the Collingwood chant at training…….really? Not smart by us.

That was my initial reaction.

But McCrae pumps up their fans at every opportunity as he knows they consider themselves the '19th' man that will get them over the line.  It usually does.

If the players start chasing shadows (the chant, Grundy being valued, one-trick ponie etc) it will distract them from the game.  They have too many missing and underdone players (ill and returning with little match time) to indulge that luxury this year.

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

A few years ago, the Melbourne Football Club produced a documentary about the decade in which it rose from its dystopic purgatory of regular thrashings to the euphoria of a premiership victory. That entire period could have been compressed in a fast motion version of the 2025 season to date as the Demons went from embarrassing basket case to glorious winner in an unexpected victory over the Dockers last Saturday. They transformed in a single week from a team that put in a pedestrian effort of predictably kicking the ball long down the line into attack that made a very ordinary Bombers outfit look like worldbeaters into a slick, fast moving side with urgency and a willingness to handball and create play with shorter kicks and by changing angles to generate an element of chaos that yielded six goals in each of the opening quarters against Freo.
