Is there something we all don't know about Tom McDonald? Like WTF is this bloke still on an AFL list let alone still playing in our senior side? Not only does he rarely get the ball...he actually competes putridly in the air and on the ground. He needs to go. We'd be better to go to the mid season draft and play a competitive forward out of local footy and just tell this bloke to stay home.

Honestly emblematic of how crape we are that a bloke with that much experience can play like that week in week out.

Surely Goodwin has to play Brown next week. The forward line is pathetic.

Why will get the same result, until Goody decides to change tack nothing will change.

Some dude was just chanting "Freo" and someone yelled out to go home to which he replied "I am home, I live in Fitzroy" to anyone that wanted to listen.

Ie. Why are there so many Freo fans here?

Perth people living in Melbourne .

Who in his right mind would follow a basket case team like Freo, an interstate one .

Our backs and mids played mostly OK. Our intensity, run and attack on the ball or player looked mostly OK.

But our in-close handballing, fumbling, and bog ordinary kicking to inside F50 makes us look like a team placed about 8th, which is where we are heading. I cannot believe how bad our kicking into F50 is, probably best summed up by Trac's out on the full in the 1st quarter. Even our great kicks like Salem, Bowey and Picket looked terrible today.

Make no mistake, Freo were not good enough to win that game, but we were error-riddled enough to lose it.

Why didn’t we put Kosi into the middle in the last? We were getting mauled in there time and time again.
The game was all but lost so try something!

It's like Goody freezes.

What about the players taking some responsibility.

Exactly.

And would people STFU about Collingwood. Pies this, Pies that....

What’s the wurundjeri word for stagnant pond? We’re currently playing like one so should rename ourselves after that.

Is this list all that? We were average post round 10 last year and we’ve been average this season. Maybe we’re just an average list.

Good list with really glaring deficiencies.

No midfield depth either

Are we throwing out bans for saying the Goodwin era was great, but he is done?

No need to watch the post game interview.

(Opponent) were excellent today, they brought the pressure we anticipated.  We'll go away and learn from this. (Opponent) are a good side and we have to be better.

Thanks.

Tmac tries but injuries have killed him, good servant of the club but time to move on.

With our two rucks palming the ball to docker mids we were hell bent on losing!

Such poor connection through the middle and into the forward line.

I now just assume that players such as ANB and even Brayshaw will more often than not cough it up.

Here’s disposal efficiency for those moving through the middle

Viney 37%
ANB 44%
Brayshaw 52%
Grundy 53%
Petracca 58%
Harmes 64%
Pickett 64%
Langdon 74%
Sparrow 78%
Salem 79%
Gawn 87%

In contrast, I could only find 1 Walyalup player on 50% and almost all were 60-70% plus and they were facing just as much pressure as us.

The decision making and skill errors behind those numbers are killing us.

Well unfortunately Pies are us in 2021, clear flag favourites. You want a flag, you have to beat them at their own game or devise a plan to neutralize theirs.

We are middle of the pack at the moment, putrid.

Someone who wants a guaranteed win at the MCG against Melbourne/Narrm.

Echo the forward line comments. Inability to lower eyes, or for leads, players making space or basic forward craft was absent in my very humble opinion. Petracca needs to accept that his power kicks at goal are woefully ineffective and look for a target. Just bloody frustrated.

One thing that doesn't get mentioned enough: Lever has been [censored] rubbish this season.

He's not alone.

There aren't this many Perth people loving in Melbourne. Most people go the other way

We’re 0 wins 4 losses as Naarm. Stuff it

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
