I’m not sure I can bear to watch us get slaughtered in front of 70,000 Pies fans.

70k, to 20 with 10k who failed to show.

Just got off the phone to the club, I was successful getting 4 guest passes and 4 general admission tickets. If you had rang up last week or earlier and were put on the list you should also be good to go.

I can't ever remember a Melbourne home and away season game being Sold Out.

So this is official?

Has any home and away game at the MCG ever been an actual sell out?  Even the record set in 1958 99K+ was not even close.

Just a few weeks back Coll v Carl was a 'sellout' yet barely 80K rolled up.

If anyone wants to purchase 2 tickets, feel free to message me.....as I will be busy and unable to make it now.

I purchased a 3 game membership for our daughter at the start of the month as part of the Kozzie promo.

...

While I  If I have to pay extra for a "Reserve Seat" ticket I'll be annoyed but as long as I can get the daughter on level 2, I will do whatever I need to do.

Need an allocated seat to get in. This is the problem I have at the moment as Guest Passes apply to a seating "area" not individual seats.

Not sure if you caught up with the latest on this.

With a GA membership and having purchased a 'guest pass' the club will send a link to acquire a complimentary 'ground entry pass'.

So your daughter can enjoy the game with you on level 2.

If you haven't received the link in the coming days give the club a call.

The team have certainly popped the hype balloon that was building for this game given our last couple of performances.

God forbid if we lose to a completely out of touch and undermanned Carlton this week. The Melbourne supporter drop off will be significant going into the pies game if we do.

The club needs a rocking win this Friday night. A game of string four quarter football and none of this picking and choosing nonsense.

A win or loss is worth 15,000 people going through the gates on KB.

If we stink the joint up on Friday night, then I can see a crowd of only 70-75k the following week.

"sell out" simply means all available tickets for sale have been sold. it has nothing to do with how many people actually rock up and scan their ticket.

Crowd esti?

I tend to agree with the people saying that if we lose to Carlton there will be a large drop off which I think will only affect MCC walk up areas. People that have paid for reserved seats are still likely to go and I think our Reserved seat areas will be over 90% full regardless.

One thing that is forgotten is that Melbourne hasn't had a Queen/King's birthday home game at the MCG since 2018.

I think it will end up around 84,000 but could be as low as 75 and high as 88.

Hi all, I have a single ticket in M53 row Q up for grabs for $38. I upgraded my membership but can't make it.

Cheers, UP THE MIGHTY DEES!!

Thanks, no I hadn't caught up with that, very pleased if it has been sorted. I had a quick look at my emails and haven't received anything yet. How did you hear about it?

Is this a QB type sellout or an Adelaide Gather Round sellout (you know - the one where half the stadium is empty)?

Uninformed question as there has not been aQB sellout before.

A completely failed attempt at satire by the QD.

A month go I bought two guest passes with the intention of using some spare GA memberships for their entry to the G.

When the email saying GA memberships will not provide entry to the G arrived, I contacted the club and they advised they were working with the AFL and MCC to sort it out.  I called the club this week and they explained that complimentary 'ground entry passes' will be provided on request.

I haven't as yet received the email with a link to how to obtain the 'ground entry pass'.  Will let you know when I see it.

I am trying to convince my husband to attend this one, since we all know that when he is at the ground, we win.

So far, his response was "90,000 Collingwood fans? I'd rather not".

Just get him some musician ear plugs, I'll be taking mine just in case the end is unbearable 😉

Pies fans must be doing the heavy lifting here, we have been flat as a tack for a month plus now

A large number of the Dee supporters bought tickets before the rot set in, will they all turn up if we lose the next two?

The email arrived this afternoon with Ticketek '(GA) ground entry pass' tickets enclosed.

  • GAMEDAY: Fremantle

It’s Game Day, and the Demons return to the MCG wounded, undermanned and desperate. Still searching for their first win of the season, Melbourne faces a daunting task against the Fremantle Dockers. With key pillars missing at both ends of the ground, the Dees must find a way to rise above the adversity and ignite their season before it slips way beyond reach. Will today be the spark that turns it all around, or are we staring down the barrel of a 0–6 start?

  • PREVIEW: Fremantle

A month is a long time in AFL football. The proof of this is in the current state of the two teams contesting against each other early this Saturday afternoon at the MCG. It’s hard to fathom that when Melbourne and Fremantle kicked off the 2025 season, the former looked like being a major player in this year’s competition after it came close to beating one of the favourites in the GWS Giants while the latter was smashed by Geelong to the tune of 78 points and looked like rubbish. Fast forward to today and the Demons are low on confidence and appear panic stricken as their winless streak heads towards an even half dozen and pressure mounts on the coach and team leadership.  Meanwhile, the Dockers have recovered their composure and now sit in the top eight. They are definitely on the up and up and look most likely winners this weekend against a team which they have recently dominated and which struggles to find enough passages to the goals to trouble the scorers. And with that, Fremantle will head to the MCG, feeling very good about itself after demolishing Richmond in the Barossa Valley with Josh Treacy coming off a six goal haul and facing up to a Melbourne defence already without Jake Lever and a shaky Steven May needing to pass a fitness test just to make it onto the field of play.

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Essendon

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
