Any ideas for dog friendly pubs in the south east of Melbourne that show the footy?

Unusually head to the Great Northern, but looking to meet up with some Bayside mates.

Not sure about the dog but there's a Sporting Globe in Mordialloc.

As usual at home with plenty of coopers pale ale.

Probably over my Perth colleagues' shoulders as I pretend to be making friendly while visiting the Perth office... or asking the one who moonlights as a WAFL umpire why the %!@#*(?! heck a call was made

At home on the couch with a good bottle of Yarra Valley Red and the better half hiding in the other end of the house praying Melbourne win.

My standard pattern. At home with lots of cold beer and beef jerky. How goods a Friday night game

Bay 338 Adelaide Oval (sorry couldnt help myself)

“338” is the police radio code for a “sudden death.” I might skip watching the game.

What's your vibe for a good pub @DubDee?

Clearly any pub, if we win by more than 40 pts. 😁

I'm up on Magnetic Island if anyone is circumstantially up here?

Thankyou.

If the grand kiddies are here then it is 'You Dill Pickle' with much theatrical gesturing at the goals (kick it here) and at out of bounds (not here).

Well i will be sitting in my chair up here in gods country with the fire going and my King Charles on the the other chair either snoring away or sitting bolt upright wondering what the roaring is all about.

good crowd, sound turned well up, good banter, crowd into the game.

probably the best i’ve had in melb is the Rose in Fitzroy although that was many years ago. not sure it’s still the same vibe. we might need to consult the pub connoisseur @Rab D Nesbitt

My lounge room cozied up next to the wood burner.

Assuming of course my neighbour hasn't realised as yet that I've cracked his Kayo uname amd pword.

Take that Murdoch you shameful......  Edit: don't want to be sued like all the others. That's one less Elephant tusk toothpick you cant have.

I'd join you Mr oversized pickle, but unfortunately my gulfstreams currently  in the shop having diamonds encrusted into the upholstery.  Maybe next time😄 I'd say enjoy but it seems a tad superfluous.

What a ripper spot to watch it. I hope the Satellite holds up for you unlike my pirated Kayo.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
