Accepted word for female dog - classic

The C word is still a bit rough Uncle to be fair.

But I’ve struck a few in my time.

This is Vernon. He is a rescue dog so we inherited his name.

My wife and I have had dogs all our married life. Out first was Lovie named after Brett Lovett.

Vernon is 17 and is partially deaf and blind. He knows the time however. He never misses dinner time and walk time.

He gets walked up and down Collins street every night. His favorite nights are Thursday and Friday when the office girls come out of the pubs. He loves the attention.

A beautiful dog.

Omg he is so adorable. Senior dogs have my heart.

I think it's time to check the qualifications of your chicken sexer WCW !

How do you sex a chicken ................... I can't believe I asked that!

Bear has an emotional support Melbourne blanket that he sleeps with. Occasionally he brings it to the living room to inform me that he’s feeling distressed…. This was him earlier today when I informed him dinner time was still an hour away

I grew up with calves on a hobby farm.  These guys are the best and they all have their own personalities.

Gentle giants!  Nice one RM

What a beauty.  They're super cluey Jaded that's for sure.  Also know how to get their way haha.

Mine often grabs his blanket and heads down to the bedroom with it without being asked.

If he cant find it he just looks at me  from the corridor and growls under his breath if it's past his bedtime (10pm ish) lol.

Bit like having a very intelligent but manipulative fury baby on four legs.

You have to look at their cloaca as soon as they hatch ie, before they take their first poo. The cloaca has a tiny pimple if it’s a boy but this disappears after the first poo. If you miss that you have to feather-sex them when they’re a couple of months old and this isn’t always accurate.

Feather-sexing is easier than the cloaca method but not as reliable. There’s a row of feathers beneath the wing and these particular feathers are a couple of millimetres shorter than the rest of the wing feathers and that’s supposed to determine the gender.

The surefire way of knowing is to wait until an egg is laid or crowing begins, and with the crowing there’s also aggression. But… egg laying is the only guaranteed way of knowing. I say this because we once had two Polish Frizzle babies. One was small and sweet-natured, textbook hen. The other was huge and aggressive and crowed, albeit relatively quietly. Textbook rooster… until she lay an egg. The biggest butchest hen I’ve ever seen.

And that’s how you sex a chicken. Bet you’re sorry you asked. 😊

Oh they are so smart and so sensitive.
When I got Covid and I was really sick he wouldn’t leave my side. He also would lay on my chest and it was the only thing that would stop me from coughing.

100% Jaded...our bestest friends with loyalty beyond question.  Hard to put the connection into words really.  It's something quite spiritual.

A little like what draws us to follow the mighty Demons!  It's in the soul.

This is my attempt to redact this statement in the interest of BBO's welfare.

Look away Uncle.... look away!

Sinbad doesn't like footy much, as whenever I get even slightly animated he goes and hides.

Our dogs have always been a huge part of the family. I have no doubt they give kids skills, attributes and responsibilities only they can teach.

  • PREVIEW: West Coast

It was bad enough that the Melbourne Football Club created yet another humiliating scenario inside its wretched season at Marvel Stadium last Sunday, but the final insult is that it has been commanded to return to the scene of the crime to inflict further punishment on its fans this week. Incidentally, if this match preview, of a game that promises to be one of the most unattractive fixtures in the history of the game, happens to cut out of your computer screen three quarters of the way through, it’s no coincidence. I’ll be mirroring the Demons’ lacklustre effort against St Kilda from last Sunday when they conceded the largest last quarter turnaround for victory in the history of the game.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.
