Always was and always will be my all time favourite Demon.
Love Robbo!

I’m in complete agreement with Robbo on 360. scary i know

98% of the footy world agree

WTF is going on?!?

I was at the game and the incident happened right in front of me. Pretty much all the crowd around me agreed JVR had his eyes on the ball.

assuming JVR gets off i think 2 weeks for Rioli is ok. tried to block, a trailing arm smacked Ridley by accident. freak incident

What hasn't been mentioned is that no Suns player remonstrated with Van R. Ellis was standing beside them as they fell and he immediately ran upfield, assuming a free would be paid...In other words, he was ten meters away and saw nothing untoward and assumed a free kick would be paid, end of matter...

Even the square off by the Suns players was half hearted.

Including that rat Powell who casually went over to pick up the ball, when Ballard was lying on the ground, to ensure that he got another kick for his stats and SuperCoach profile

Think its time for me to invest in a grid iron helmet, and cut out my wife's shoulder pads from her '80s collection! Just need a Hunt or Naughton headband and I'll be rockin' (and compliant)!!

Make sure you agree on a safe word before you start.

Have you got it on media??

Demonland  FB and any other pages you can post to ?

I do.

It was Jack Viney 2014

Prior to this was the Trengove sling tackle on Dangerfield but at the time we were very much irrelevant so no-one really cared. Dangerfield miraculously recovered from his concussion and was best on ground the following week.

The Viney brace was legendary.

yeah got it on fb - hoping thru word of mouth everyone will also spread to their dees mates and general footy fans

Am I correct in understanding that had JVR actually touched the ball, even by a whisker, then we wouldn't even be having this conversation and it'd simply be put down as a "football incident" ?

Does anybody know if the club has managed to track down this so called reasonable person the Tribunal keep referring to. I have a feeling that if we can find him/her they might be able to clear up this matter rather quickly.

Pfffft.   The AFL has never had integrity, so why would it start now?  New CEO, maybe? But then he has been part of the circus long enough so nothing will change

Mmm, I've always had to reconcile my feelings about the AFL by accepting they are basically operate as a political organisation.

It's all about optics and grabbing more power.

You want a footy team in Tassie? Build a new stadium with 3 thousand extra seats before we could possibly enter a team.

Allegations of racism at Hawthorn? High profile coach at the centre of it has not even been interviewed yet.

Betting scandal involving an umpire?....Crickets.

Criticism that the game is a bit slow? Keep changing the rules making it more complex and irrational.

Umpiring standards are woeful? Just chuck another one on the field.

Litigation by former players around CTE? Better look like we're doing something about it. Let's find a scapegoat = MFC and JVR.

They are a 7 X 24 spin cycle mates club machine.

The AFL acts like a political party. It's all about how it looks.

The only way JVR gets off is if the media howls the AFL down.

So far so good.

Even if he gets off, nothing will really change unless people stop attending or watching.

If it wasn't for my passion for the MFC, there's no way I would be watching or attending this weird circus.

I put the AFL on par with the royal family (aka the firm).  It is protect the brand AT ALL COSTS.

Outrage. 47 pages. They AFL are just making it up as they go.

Fogarty. Oops a mistake.  Why not bring that to MRO and the tribunal.  It was far worse.

No striking. No intent. No swinging arm. No concussion.

Should have reasonably foreseen causing injury and contact.  Thats not right. Where’s that new rule !!!! That’s every contest in our game.  You cannot stop going for a spoil in a marking contest.

Just heard the most sensible comment on this matter.

Jordan Lewis on 360 - " They are making it up as they go along "

Can't argue with that !!!

I liked his dig at Will Powell too, I think Jordan still rates the players code quite high

That would be far too sensible a narrative for the toilet trained AFL media to put out.

No. That is not part of the decision.

Of course, it’s not the backline, you might argue and you would probably be right. It’s the boot studder (do they still have them?), the midfield, the recruiting staff, the forward line, the kicking coach, the Board, the interchange bench, the supporters, the folk at Casey, the head coach and the club psychologist  It’s all of them and all of us for having expectations that were sufficiently high to have believed three weeks ago that a restoration of the Melbourne team to a position where we might still be in contention for a finals berth when the time for the midseason bye arrived. Now let’s look at what happened over the period of time since Melbourne overwhelmed the Sydney Swans at the MCG in late May when it kicked 8.2 to 5.3 in the final quarter (and that was after scoring 3.8 to two straight goals in the second term).

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.
