Better 2nd half of qtr.  from the view from the game, it’s been a game of almost, often just out of touch.

Kelly and eagles around packs are doing well.  Their plan seems to be slow us down around packs to stop our quick breaks.

Not at our best but credit to the Eagles for turning up and applying the pressure

Grundy Fritsch TMac Lever doing well. McVee and Chandler having off days. JVR hitting packs and creating contests

The 4 points are safe but would like to see tidier ball use in the second half

Commentary out West isnearly as bad as the umpiring

Mindset still not where it should be.  This is the type of game we should just fire up and kill.  But no.... Our mindset is way off.

Free kick count is 9-9. But it’s the ones they don’t pay that frustrates me.

Whats the point of having the 4th umpire if they still refuse to pay the bleeding obvious?

Thank you. It's the incorrect disposal by wc that sucks.

I think I prefer bbb to Petty up fwd.

And another free to wc 20m from goal. Nice.

I've liked his ruck work

Fair dinkum, the biased umpiring in the West Coast games should come under investigation. Of course nothing will happen with the protected species they are. Makes watching so hard.

Umpire No. 6 seems to be the problem.

Listen to ABC.... SEN has Gossage who wanks over every WC possession.

Lol surprised that got through the filter.

We are not switched on. How many times have we kicked it to a West Coast player.

Disclaimer: Positive Police leave thread now, Melbourne are in front but people are negative. We get it.

We're ticking along, doing just enough. Been clinical up forward which is good. Skills have been off though wit a tonne of wormburner kicks through the middle. Need to clean that up.

We did work our way back into it with more uncontested ball 123 - 114 but the worry is the turnovers West Coast are getting in dangerous areas where but haven't been able to convert. The Eagles should probably be 2 goals down at worst right now.

Win contested ball, be clean, no need to Hollywood around with it and just put it in the right place and kick some goals.

More like a 2022 performance so far. Fritsch has a [censored] laser boot and has been the difference between the two sides.

These [censored] wce supporters are close to being insufferable.

We're playing so terribly we're almost double their score.  Cheer up, little Demonlanders.

It's OK but I think bbb is a much stronger mark.

Trac has 2 contested possesions, no tackles and 1 clearance so far. Needs to lift.

Fritata is a world class player

JVR relentless competitor

Viney doing the tough work in the middle

Not much more positives so far

100% Eagles are crowding the contest and putting on the pressure in numbers.
It's making it difficult to break out of the back half unless we switch the ball.

I think the players you mentioned + Trac will have a better second half.

Someone to clamp Hunt, he's been left completely alone all game

God, there's a name I was happy to forget🤮

The Eagles are cracking in and taking it on. Nothing wrong with our effort but our focus and attention to details is lacking. Would prefer us to simplify and stop the Hollywood handballs.

Wayward kicking for goal, dump kicks inside 50 and some baffling umpiring all contributed to the Dees not getting out to an an early lead that may have impacted the result. At the end of the day the Demons were just not good enough and let the Hawks run away with their first win against the Demons in 7 years.

  • NON-MFC: Round 09

Round 9 kicks off out west with the Dockers hosting a Collingwood side resting several stars. Fremantle need to make a statement on their home deck after some disappointing form on the road, while the Magpies will be keen to maintain their Top 2 position. Friday night sees a must-win clash between two sides desperate to stay in touch with the eight. St Kilda have shown glimpses while Carlton are clinging to relevance after a flat start to the season. Saturday’s twilight game at Marvel pits the Bombers against a struggling Sydney outfit. Essendon can’t afford another close match against a lower-ranked side, while the Swans risk sliding down the ladder even further. Up in Darwin, the fourth-placed Suns will look to extend their stay in the top four. The Bulldogs have hit their stride with three big wins on the trot and will be very keen to consolidate on their momentum. The always fiery Showdown looms as pivotal for both clubs. Adelaide are eyeing a spot in the Top 4 with a win, while Port Adelaide’s season could slip away if they drop another game and fall further behind the pack. Sunday begins with a yawn fest between Richmond and West Coast. The Tigers need to bank the points to stay clear of the bottom two, while the Eagles are still chasing their first win of the year. The Giants face one of the league’s toughest road trips as they travel to GMHBA Stadium to face the Cats. With GWS at risk of a third straight loss, Geelong will be eager to consolidate their position inside the eight and start their climb up the ladder. The round wraps up with the top-of-the-table Lions heading to Ninja Stadium to take on the second-last Roos. The Lions should easily take care of the struggling Roos who might be powerless against the best in the comp. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?
